Vehicle Detail
Here is a no-reserve auction for a 1979 Triumph Bonneville T140. It is 750cc and is the original Royal Blue / Silver Flash color. It is original and un-restored. A strong survivor of garage. It is an all numbers matching bike. It has been sitting in my garage since 1985. I am the second owner of the bike. All parts are original, except exhaust tips, and the bike is complete. I used to drive it a lot in the 80’s ; it is a good example of vintage Triumph I changed the fluids, cleaned the fuel tank, replaced petcocks and filters, this year. I replaced the battery this year. After 25 years or so, it starts, but needs a thorough going over, carbs cleaned. The Amal carbs, Lucas RITA electronic ignition system are all original. The Smiths speedometer and tachometer are original. Lights and lenses are original. Front rubbers were replaced this year. Yes, the tires are original, hold air, have tread, but should probably be replaced. The bike didn’t and doesn’t leak fluids. The engine has a lot of compression, spins as it should, doesn’t smoke. All the lights and flashers are operational. The brakes are operational, but need a thorough going over prior to taking on road. The bike has been driven 14,300 miles since new in 1979. Again, this bike has been sitting for 25 years. This is being offered as a project bike; it is complete, but needs attention. I attached a lot of pictures; please examine them carefully. The bike is 34 years old and does not come with any warranty. The center stand works great, the side-stand is not operational. There is a small dent on the top of tank- pictured. There is a small scrape on the front fender – pictured. Bike can be seen in Edison NJ, picked up in Edison NJ. No reserve auction, as is, where is, final sale, payment due 7 days after auction. I have a clear title. Feel free to ask questions; I’ve had the bike for 28 years and know all about it. http://www.classicbike.biz/Triumph/Brochures/1970/79Triumph-Brochure.pdf
