Vehicle Detail
1968 mustang with full 1967 shelby fastback kit. The car has an original Shelby trunklid installed. It still has the factory trunklight in it.Close to finished project car (meaning all the hard stuff is done). This car is being auctioned with roller wheels and tires. There is a full set of matching new BF Goodrich radial TA's on new Cragar SS mags on the car if the buyer wants them for an extra $600 (above auction sale price). The car has new Floors because the carpets got wet and rusted the floors. This is a SUPER SOLID southern car.ALL frame rails and torque boxes are rock solid and original to car. Car has a great running 289 with new TRI-Y headers, 4 bbl intake and Holley carb too.BRAND NEW dual exhaust. No tips out of pan. COBRA valve covers.BRAND NEW radiator. The motor smokes a bit but I do believe that is valve seals that have dried and cracked. The engine DID sit for a couple of years so it is possible the smoke could clear up with regular running.Motor has no rod noise, lifter noise, etc. Very sound engine and transmission. The same motor was installed in a different 67 mustang that I drove a bit and it ran perfect, no smoke either. So not sure why it's smoking now, may be from sitting a couple of years without running. The car needs new carpet (No carpet now except on fold-down).Dash is nice with one tiny puncture. Headliner good but needs to be spray-dyed. Front seat covers are torn up. Needs new covers. I have a pair of nice un-cracked deluxe door panels with one c-chrome stainless trim and both aluminum trim panels.Fold down seat is included. Not sure if I have the lower seat cushion but top is there. Most rear interior panels are there also and already painted ready for installation. Bottom side of car is clean and primed in the correct reddish brown oxide paint. Floor pans are sealed but would need some cleanup work from the bottomside if you wanted them to be undetectable. This car has had the fastback roof conversion. It was well done. You really cannot tell it was done except for the lower seat cushion brackets which are taller than they should be. Easy fix. Car has new rear quarters also. I did not install those as they were done by a previous owner. Upper scoops are functional. Trunk is ROCK SOLID and painted black and pretty much done. All ORIGINAL trunk pans. Windshield is cracked and I have it ready to come out. I MAY have the front windshield trim and maybe even the rear window trim but no guarantees. I will look again asap. Shelby hood needs a bit of adjusting and or bodywork like they all do.Shelby hood pins brackets included with Pins. BRAND NEW Grille included.BRAND NEW Shelby gas cap and emblem included.BRAND NEW Shelby taillight bezels installed with correct taillight trunk mount boxes. Engine compartment was sandblasted and painted the correct satin/semi black. Looks great. Correct Shelby shock tower to firewall brace. Needs to be bolted in.Brand new windshield washer bottle. Car has some black basecoat on it. Needs final adjustments to bodywork and then clearcoat.Rockers are ROCK SOLID. Auto transmission works great but the connection at the radiator is leaking a bit. Car also has air in the brake lines so I'd say whoever gets it should just bleed them. May need new pads. Four wheel drums, manual steering and manual brakes. The car is listed on Vintage Mustang Trader which is a great site for these cars if you haven't seen it. More pics and info there. Google it....or yahoo it... I run an auto transport company so I can ship this anywhere you need it, even overseas. On Jan-03-13 at 08:24:24 PST, seller added the following information: Just adding some other info people have been asking about.I will be adding more pics today. To start the car it needs a small drink of gas down the carb. It's cold here and the car has no manual choke. Once primed it fires up right away. The car also has a BRAND NEW starter installed AND NEW starter cable too. Due to the brakes needing attention it will have to ship as an inoperable car.No bumpers or brackets. I MAY have the rear bumper and brackets but not sure.If someone wants the vehicle for $15,000 buy it now I will sell or make offer. Please do not contact me unless you have funds available NOW. On Jan-03-13 at 10:29:29 PST, seller added the following information: More info:Brand New alternator and solenoidThis was a factory air car. None of the air equipment is here except interior vents. This IS a 4 speed car. Pedals are still installed. Auto trans could be pulled and a manual trans swapped right in. It's all there and ready.Brand NEW side window channel trims on the car. They need some work to finish attach them as they aren't snug enough. No radio or radio plate. On Jan-05-13 at 18:15:04 PST, seller added the following information: I uploaded a few more pics for everyone. interior pics show the fold down and rear panels that are included. The panels in the rear area will need some adjusting and a little fabricating to attach them better. They are just loosely mounted. looks like one rear inside lower corner is missing. All these panels need to be properly mounted. There are NO seat cushions for the rear. I had a rear top but it was damaged. Better to get a different one.I DID find that I have some of the front windshield chrome. I'm including it. I looked around and it looks like I have the correct headlight buckets for the car. All 4. They will go with. There is no hood latch support bracket or the inboard mounts for grill lights. A brand new one with the shelby brackets is about $110.00Correct sequential taillight boxes inside the trunk but buyer will need to add the actual sequential flasher if so desired. A couple of other things.1st...the trunk and underside of this car is all super solid. I found it difficult to get good pics but if anyone wants to inspect the car before the auction ends feel free. It's all solid. Both trunk sides are rock solid.2nd...I've received a bunch of cash offers and people want me to stop the auction but I'm going to let it run. If the high bidder fails to pay I will contact the next in line provided you email me your contact info and offer.
