This is a full blown nut and bolt restoration with no expense spared. Built in San Jose California and bought new at West Valley Motor Sales in Santa Clara California on 6/10/1966 by Jean Malone (refer to picture). This is a true ' T ' code candy apple red exterior with 'D3' code parchment / burgandy interior. This Mustang is powered by it's original 289 engine, C4 automatic transmission and the original 2.80:1 rear axle. We aquirred this jewel recently from the gentleman who has owned it since 1995 and who also did this extensive restoration. Tim built a portfolio containing all restoration pictures, all receipts and factory build manuals. Talk is cheap, the proof is in the documents(refer to pictures). This car is much nicer in person, so the pictures will not justify it's true beauty. The attention to detail is second to none, every clip, nut, and bolt is exactly where it should be. Example: the glove box light works, the rear console light works, and the console map pocket light works as well (extrordinary). This car is complete in every way so you won't be disappointed! Body: Car was completely disassembled and stripped down to bare metal, and any rust issues were cut out and replaced (refer to pictures). Once the body was ready for primer, Tim only used high quality epoxy / 2K primer and sealer. The car was block sanded several times until the body was lazer straight and ready for paint. This car was painted completely apart to ensure even coverage and no paint lines. Then car was covered with 3 heavy coats of correct PPG deltron DBU base and 3 heavy coats of clear. The car was then color sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. Then it was reassembled to better than factory lines and fit. All bright work had been replaced or refinished to like new appearence. The car was upgraded with the GT appearence package which includes the fog lights in the grill that work, and the lower rear valance with the exhaust ports with the louvered trumpet tips that gives this car the total look! Other notable upgrades are new 2006 16" mustang wheels and period correct spinners and wrapped in Kelly 205/60R-16s with 95% treat left that gives this car an aggresive stance. Engine: Is the original 289 2V that been completely rebuilt and freshened up with correct ford engine paint and with less then 5000 miles since the rebuild (practically new). The C4 automatic transmission has been completely rebuilt with a new torque converter. The 2.80:1 rear axle has been completely gone through as well and at 80 mph, this car runs effortless. All suspension has been rebuilt as well as new rear springs. Other creature comforts include original power steering, pointless ignition,upgraded to power brakes, original dual exhaust, all stainless brake and fuel lines make this car more reliable then when it was new! Interior: This rare color combination is phenomenal! Parchment seats, dash, steering wheel and with burgandy carpet and accents, is the best and most crisp we have ever seen. Also equiped with Custom auto sound's route 66 edition 200 watt system with dual front and rear speakers plus a 10 disc changer in the trunk. This system replicates the original in the dash. Sound deadening has been placed in the roof,quarters and doubled in the floors for a quiet ride and good climate control. This car has many accomplishments starting with 5 consecutive 1st place trophies awarded by the Tennessee Valley Mustang Club and numberous car show victories as well. We can't emphize enough that this car is much better in person. Trunk is complete with the spare, jack, lug wrench, mat, and trunk drop off covers. This restoration has been done 6 years ago, but looks like it was done yesterday. Note: there are a couple of areas of solvent pops in the paint but are very minor.
