Vehicle Detail
1993 Cadillac Allante-Only 47K miles!! Your looking at a 1993 Cadillac Allante with only 47K original miles. This is a nice driver quality Allante that needs a little TLC to make it real nice. Please read my ad fully. I will do my very best to describe to you this Allante. What's good, and what it needs. I've owned a few Allantes so I should be able to answer most of your questions. Mechanically-This Allante runs very nice. The transmission shifts as it should through each gear. A little less than 5000 miles ago the brakes were done. New pads and rotors. The Oxygen sensor was replaced and a wheel alignment was done. The tires have 16k miles on them. They were replaced at 31k miles. The AC was converted to R134A in 2006. The Driver Information Center (DIC) shows that their is low refrigerant. It also shows that their is low washer fluid. Their is a crack in the washer fluid reservoir. Never got around to fixing these items because I've only driven the car with the top down in nice weather. The rear pull down motor had an intermittent issue. The "J' hook was adjusted and it's been behaving. Rear pull down motor issues are not uncommon for these cars. The front pull down motors work as they should. I've owned the car about 3 years and only drive it in the summer months. So anywhere from 2000 to 2500 miles per year have been put on this car. Never driven in rain or snow. Exterior-The polo green paint shows well and gets a lot of compliments. The car came with the dealer option gold package and has gold badges. The gold is in very nice shape on the emblems. It also has the upgraded chrome wheels and I've added the gold wreath center caps to match the gold badges. Their are scratches and a few dings that would be normally associated with a 20 year old car with it's mileage. Please see pictures. The worst of it is a quarter size scratch on the hood and a nickel size scratch on the trunk lid. Both have been touched up, but are still noticeable from close up. The driver side rear side marker lens is cracked. NOT the taillight. The side marker lens. Easy fix. They are about $40 and can be purchased on line at the Allante store. Their is a little curb rash on the front skirt, but it's very minor and has been touched up. Again you need to be right on top of it, to notice it. Interior-The interior is very clean and free of any rips or tears. There are a few minor interior issues. The defroster vent on the dash is starting to raise up on the right hand side. Again, a common issue for Allantes due to being out in the sun. Easy fix. There is plenty of help and repair tips out there for this. The leather shift boot for the transmission is new but doesn't line up perfect. For example the car will be in drive but will show on the indicator it's in 3rd gear. Obviously this does not affect the transmission, just a cosmetic thing. In the console where the trunk and fuel door buttons sit, the molding that holds the buttons is cracked. The driver side window goes down fine. Coming up, it sometimes stops halfway up and requires you to pull it slightly and then it will go all the way up the rest of the way on its own. Intermittent issue. The passenger side sun visor vanity mirror came out. I still have the mirror, just needs to be put back in. I personally don't like the sun visors when driving with the top down so I've removed them and they are stored in the trunk. If you're looking for a affordable Allante that needs some minor cosmetic TLC this car is for you. If you're looking for the perfect Allante, please look to spend a lot more and keep looking. While this Allante is not perfect I can't begin to tell you the number of compliments I've gotten while driving it and you will too, even if you don't invest a dime into it. Also included will be the original owners manual, the 1993 Allante repair manual, the boot covers, a custom fit car cover and an extra set of keys. The car is located on Long Island and I can't stress enough that this Allante was in NO WAY affected by the hurricane in October. We had no flooding, and no trees or branches down by the car. NONE! This car has a clean NYS title. I'm hoping that I've described everything to best of my ability. I'll be happy to answer any further questions. The reserve is set well below book value, taking consideration for the cosmetic issues. Good luck bidding!
