Vehicle Detail

1937 Ford Cabriolet (Convertible) I am listing this 1937 Ford Cabriolet for auction. I would also consider reasonable offers as well. The car is for sale locally as well. I reserve the right to stop the auction at any time. My name is Greg and you can contact me @ (806) 477-2201 with any questions, offers, or to set up an inspection. I am available any time for inspection of vehicle. I bought this 37 "Cab" out of Maryland. The car was restored 40+ years ago and appears to have a lot of correct ford parts. The glass and other parts all have Ford logos. The gentelman that restored it past, then I was told the next owner was a secret service agent. It was purchased from his estate by an appraiser, and that is how I got it was from him. While taking interior panels out of the rumble seat bay to inspect the inner sheet metal I found an old dirty baseball cap. It is from the secret service, I took pics and they are in the photo bucket. Just thought that was pretty neat. The car has aged well and was apparently stored and cared for all of these years. It is a very solid and original metal car. The paint still shines and looks good, but has had chips and nicks brush touched over the years. It has some checking in some areas as well. The rumble seat compartment is nice and clean. The car has good tires, great mechanically and has a great look. It is showing some age, but it is not a $65K car. Still a very good cruiser that gets the looks and very dependable. Not a rusted up convertible. The car has factory radio with antenna, factory clock, after market heater (southwind) and fog lamps. Well optioned drop top. Has original banjo steering wheel and center cap. This is a very solid all steel Ford. It has all ford sheet metal that appears to have never had any patche panels installed or any rust repaired. I removed the interior card board panels and rubber mats to inspect more closely. Please see all additional photo's on the photo bucket link at the bottom of the page. I photograghed all interior sheet metal and floors. The have never been any lower patch panels or floors installed. The frame and body show no sign of any previous damage. The firewall and battery box are solid and appear to be original to the car. The doors shut very easy, no slamming, just nice and smooth. The engine is a 1937 ford 21 stud 221 CID 85 HP engine. The engine has been updated to an external coil and a late model starter cylinoid. It has the original transmission and rear end. It still has mechanical brakes that work very well. The engine is very smooth and has great torque. The transmisission shifts very smooth. The steering box is tight and the car tracks very good. The mechanicals are very satisfactory on this ol' Ford. The interior is nice and clean. The guages all work and appear to read accurate. The seat is missing some buttons and seams are showing some wear. The top folds up and down nicely and easily. The top is worn and has one tear that has been sewn for repair. The top has been dyed and looks ok, but it could use a top down the road to bring it up a notch, but still very functional. The left and right door glasses have delamination going on. The door glass mechanisms are very good, roll up and down very easily. The windshields and rear glass are very nice. The under carriage is driver quality and could use a good detail or even some prep and paint to make it show better. The chassis is very original and straight. Has new exhaust from the engine back to the muffler. Again, be sure to see all pictures in the photo bucket. It has locking hood with key, locking right door with key, locking rumble trunk lid with key, and locking gas cap with key. The mileage is exempt, being sold as is with no warrenty. I have tried to describe the car to the best of my knowledge. I am available any time for inspection or I can even take specific pictures and forward to you. The car with a new top and a fresh paint job down the road just improves the value. These cars are coming up less and less for sale. Treat your self to a nice Christmas present. Good luck and thanks for viewing my auction. http://s1340.beta.photobucket.com/user/grautobody1/library/1937%20Ford%20Cabriolet
