Vehicle Detail
Vintage 1938, With Suicide Doors, Dry stored for 35 plus years, 70% stripped and near ready for restoration. Body- The exterior body metal and panels are very sound with no through rust (Only areas of superficial natural oxidation), Interior panels (Same)- No visible through rust. The floor and sheetmetal inside this vehicle is in VERY GOOD SHAPE!. Underbody is in need of a clean, prep, prime and paint. ALL the NORMAL things a person would do (Clean, Paint, Repair, Replace or restore) during a top to bottom restoration and end up with 1 VERY CLASSY RIDE! If you know nothing about these cars please google it and watch it in action, it is one smooth sweet ride....Whether you chop the top or go Original you will definitely be impressed. Exterior- The entire body metal (end to end) is in very good shape and there is only one dent in the vehicle (Right rear under skirt, by exhaust pipe. I bought this vehicle from an old guys estate who died and he was restoring the car (Primer on the body). There is very little body work to do on this, the running boards will need a little TLC though. All of the fenders, grills, running boards, light assemblies, tail lights, chrome trim, hood, grill and other parts go with the car including some original still in box parts (Carburator & etc.) What I know is missing is the factory original radiator cap. Interior- Original cloth interior and the upholstery are not in good condition (30 plus years of mice) but I kept the original seats frames/spring assemblies for re-upholstering and padding. The floor plates are in remarkably good condition. The factory original gauges, steering wheel and radio are in remarkably good shape. Engine- Factory original 6 cylinder engine with manual transmission. The nephew for the estate told me that the car ran fine when his uncle died. I have not tried to start or run the engine but the last time I checked it turned over by hand smoothly....I have a disassembled Chevy 427 block, heads, crank, rods and etc. that go with this sale (I did have plans for this car but my health went south and my son is selling his mini farm where I dry store this vehicle). The vehicle has low mileage I am guessing at around 40k, the mileage stated in the add is approximated, if you want to keep it ALL original. The vehicle as a whole- The car needs to be dismantled, cleaned, prepped, restored, under painted and then reassembled. There are no visible dents in the exterior body with exception to a spot in the rear by the exhaust pipe, so body work will go easy with a little body prep filler and look exceptionally slick. The chrome is in good shape but needs cleaned and polished. The doors (Front and rear) including trunk lid open and close smoothly. As far it stands for 30 plus years in storage, unmodified the car is near 100% factory original equipment. Parts and extra parts- I have a disassembled Chevy 427 block, heads, crank, rods and etc. that go with this sale so if you do not want to go original 6 cylinder engine, you have one mean engine to tuck into it. EVERYTHING in my shop that belongs to this car, goes with the car- Engine, Transmission, parts, chrome, trim, electrical and mechanical parts, body parts, trunk lids and etc.. Title- Assigned to me by the estate and in my possession but I never had it transferred, before I deployed to Iraq; Shipping- The buyer is 100% responsible for picking up, loading and shipping the car and parts. It is currently dry stored and I need a few days notice from the successful buyer on when (Date and time) he will pick up the car or have it picked up. I may be able to store the car longer for the buyer but my son has his mini farm for sale and I have no where to store my cars in the very near future. I also have a vintage 1964 Ford T-Bird Convertable and a 1929 Ford Murry Pick-up truck that is currently on auction too. I have no other place to store my man-man toys, so the toys need to go to a good home and not out in someone's cornfield to rot. The car is located in a dry storage building in Northwest Iowa (near Sioux City). So as you make your arrangements to ship the vehicle and all parts are located near this city point. Warrantees- NO warrantees are implied or expressed, the 1938 Chrysler Royal is being sold AS-IS. Sale- NO CAR, NO TITLE, NO REMOVAL UNTIL PAID FOR IN FULL via Paypal or other acceptable negotiated means or method of payment. If you have an Holiday or shipping time issue (Since it is very close to the holidays and need a spot of extra time YOU HAD BETTER GET ON THE EBAY EMAIL ME AND PROVIDE ME WITH ADEQUATE NOTIFICATION, I will do my very best to accomodate the buyer. I run an honest auction so IF YOU ARE NOT A SERIOUS BUYER, DON'T HAVE THE FUNDS THEN PLEASE DO NOT BID! The pictures provided are pictures in storage and are as good as I can get and impossible for me to get better ones due to the fact that I am working in NM.
