Vehicle Detail
1953 Plymouth Cranbrook Kustom. The roof is chopped 4" to match the 1939 Lincoln rear window hieght. 1950 Plymouth trim is fitted to the hand made rocker panel. 1956 Mercury quarter panels are spliced and fit to the bottom half of the originals. The full length shirts are slid under the Merc trim using tabs welded into the skirt and are fastened via bolts welded to the skirts with wing nuts under the car.The same Merc donated the upper bumper and grill to the front grill opening. A hand made grill is fitted under that with chrome bullets trimed to fit. Taillites are 55 Chevy and are mounted from inside the trunk. Headlites are from Speedway and have the signal lite in them , although the pass side signal isnt working. The body is channeled over the original frame. No ride height adjustment kids ! The front coil spings are out of a 1980s Chevy van and do make a small amount of noise when hitting pot holes but are fine otherwise. The chassis and floor is clean and painted grey for better visability when working under it. Any experienced mechanic would appreciate that ! From the firewall through the floor all the way into the trunk is all new sheet metal, all painted and sealed. The trunk has the battery box with cut-off switch, juntion box for the all new wiring harness and spare tire with jack and jack stands. The wire harness flows through the full length center console and the fuse box is under the dash behind a removable panel. Harness instructions and notes are included. The brakes are all new ; Scarebird disc brake conversion, 80s Camaro master cylinder,S-10 rear with drums. The engine is 1986 Ford with 1970 points distributer. It is stock internally but rebuilt. The trans is 1989 Lincoln, rebuilt. The trans does not have the switch on it that disengages the OD properly so it bogs down a little when coming to a stop but otherwise good. The car has been totally restored and kustomized and is clean everywhere but i am not a pro at anything. The paint has some minor scratches but no dents. The hood is the only place that has any wavy metal but a pro bodyman could handle that if you wanted to repaint. The roof has small swirl marks in it made with steel wool as to match the aluminum interior parts. The headliner is all aluminum held together via screws and seam sealer and has insulation . The visers are aluminum. The front seats are ok,belts are new ,rear seats, door panels, rear inner panels i did myslf and they look like it ! The gauges are new and funtion but, the temp needs the proper sensor, the fuel gauge reads empty at half way mark and the speedo needs an adapter from Omega gauges to connect to the trans. The steering wheel is late sixties Dodge RV. The signal switch is on the floor between the driver seat and door and funtions as it should. The side windows and winshield are lexan. The wheel covers are 1950 Plymouth and are powder coated black with chrome bullets. The car will come with a binder with all part numbers . It took me 4 years to complete this car so any questions will be answered as detailed as you want. The buyer will be resposible for shipping/pick up unless you are within driving distance.
