If you have been looking for a nice 66-67 chevy II Hardtop, you know that they are hard to find and it seems you either have a pile of junk for 10-15k or 30k for an over the top restored car. This car is right in between. I bought this car some time ago with the intention of keeping it long term but a long time friend of mine has a 1970 Chevelle that he has agreed to let go, so that is the only reason it is up for sale. The car from what I can tell retains all of the original body panels and is very straight, the floor pans are pristine as well. According to the previous owner which had the car over 15 years it was painted about 20 years ago but has always been garage kept. the paint and body work looks very good and is a super nice driver and local car show car. After purchasing the car I pulled the driveline and it now has a freshly built (less than 150 miles) 355 which consists of a GM crank, h-beam rods, clevite bearings, TRW flat top pistons, .040 over, Melling high volume pump, decked and balanced. It has a Comp 285b-6 cam and lifters with all comp valvetrain including new springs locks retainers and guideplates. The heads are a freshly reworked set of Bowtie Phase III with stainless valves that have been ported. Induction consists of a Holley HP 750 and Powder coated and ported Weiand intake topped off with GMPP poder coated valve covers all one piece gaskets and ARP hardware throughout. It has a 6 Quart low profile Kevko oil pan,Fluidampner, MSD Pro Billet distributor and coil, MSD 6-al all of these engine components are new! It continues on with ALL NEW, Hays lightweight aluminum flywheel, hays street strip clutch kit with all ARP hardware, New Richmond Super Street 5 speed transmission and Hurst Comp Plus shifter. It has a new Griffen aluminum radiator and fans Optima battery, mini starter, new fuel cell, Holley pump with all stainless braided line and fittings. The exhaust on this car is all new as well and consists of Stahl custom fenderwell headers with adapter plates, all mandrel bent 3 inch exhaust with electric cutouts and flowmaster top 10 mufflers all the way over rear diff and turned down like chevelle style. When i pulled the engine i also pulled the front cap and the engine bay was stripped and painted base/clear black and every component was cleaned up, the engine bay is very nice and very slick and the powder coated and clearcoted vintage orange engine and components really fit the vibe of the car as well. The engine runs great, is very driveable and makes plenty of power for this light car 450-475 horse and sounds kick ass. The car will cruise down the highway at 60 around 2200 RPM. All of the clutch linkage and hardware was purchased new from ChevyII only.com, The car retains the stock 10 bolt rear diff with 3.08 gears perfect gear for the Richmond 5 speed. The car has a new set of wheel vintiqes rallys with new center caps and trim rings, CPP brakes including new cpp master cyl, braided lines, prop valve, calipers and cross drilled rotors, stops great. The interior is just right, it retains much of the original hardware with new covers on the split bench and rear seats and new headliner and door panels. Other than the liquid filled auto meter guages and ominous monster tach the interior looks vintage and stock which matches the rest of the vibe of the car. The car has the original bumpers and bright work which all still looks great for the age. All of the glass is in great shape along with a new windshield. This is a enjoyable fun car that has the right look without being too over the top that you can drive and enjoy yet still have some money in the bank to personalize it and make it your own! No dissapointments here, it is NOT a perfect show car but well respectable in any crowd i assure you as it attracts attention and praise everywhere it goes.
