Vehicle Detail
I bought this for a good price on Sunday 12-2-2012. The primary reason for buying this was to quickly resell it and make a few bucks off of it. I am not a dealer. I have a regular job and buy/sell cars, trucks, tractors, atv’s, etc for extra money. Clear Ohio title, which was notarized out of the previous owner’s name on 11-30-2012 when the car was placed for sale. A rear brake line needs replaced—the brakes work, but the pedal goes down further than it should. Engine sounds great, excellent power, no bad sounds. The exhaust is quiet like it should be. The trans is good and shifts like it should. No check engine lights. The power seats and huge moonroof all work as they should. The OEM stereo sounds crisp, loud, and clear. The interior is clean for the year. I did not even vacuum it. I brought it home and took pictures of it in my driveway. The heater works. All of the dash and interior lights work. The odometer does not work—so the car has more than 132,xxx miles on it. I do not have any idea of when the odometer quit working. The windshield wipers work some of the time, but sometimes they do not work. The passenger rear door does not open form the inside or outside. I do not know why. I have the original owners manual, the anti-theft radio code paperwork, etc. The factory phone is still in the center console, along with the flip-up phone panel on top of the dash. Rear tires are OK, front tires are worn. The body is in very good condition for being 20 years old. This isn’t a show car, but it is very nice for the dirt cheap price I’m selling it for. There are a few rust bubbles under the grille on the hood, a spot on the passenger side fender, and a spot on the driver side rear door. The car looks good, but it certainly is not perfect. The paint is nice & shiny on the sides of the car. The paint on the hood and roof is pretty good—a mild buff job would make it look good like the sides of the car. The deck lid however is faded quite a bit, and a buff job would not restore it to look like the rest of the paint. IMO, the rest of the body is too good to repaint. If I were going to keep this car, I’d simply find a used black deck lid to replace this one with---you could likely sell the leftover part for most of the cost of the new deck lid. To be clear, the rear deck lid is not damaged in any way, the paint is simply faded. Ultimately, I don’t care what you do with it after you buy it—it’s yours! All of the power windows worked properly the day I bought it. Last night (Monday 12-3-2012), I rolled all four windows down, and when I went to raise them the driver rear window either came off the track or there is a problem with the regulator—you can hear the motor run, but the window did not come up. While trying to pull the window up manually, I managed to break it. I was not happy about this, but realized “If this is the worst thing that happens to me this week, I’ll be fine.” A rear window can be found for $70 on ebay. I have owned this car for two days and I have given a lengthy description and disclosed all known issues. If you want a brand new Mercedes, go to your local dealer and buy one. This car sold new for $70,000 twenty years ago. You can buy this for $1799. That is cheaper than junkyards want for the engine alone. This is the lowest price on ebay. Why am I selling it so cheap? Because I bought it cheap--not looking to get rich, just want to make a few bucks for my efforts. This car does not have any kind of warranty. You buy it, you own it. Due to the blown rear brake line and the broken rear glass, I highly recommend this vehicle be towed to your destination. The car is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time. Pictures: All of the pictures were taken on Sunday 12-2-2012 @ 4:00 pm. Location: Philo, OH 43771 Buyer requirements: $500 nonrefundable deposit due within 24 hours of the auction close. Full payment due within three (3) days of auction close. Car must be picked up from my garage/driveway within 7 days unless prior arrangements are made. If the buyer cannot abide by all of these terms, don’t bid. I’m selling this cheap, I do not want any hassles with payment, and I do not want it taking up space in my garage any longer than necessary. If you have questions about the car, call prior to bidding. 740 819-8903. Thanks, Roy
