Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1971 Triumph Stag 4-speed Manual Trans, no rust, 61K original miles! You are bidding on an original “survivor” 1971 Triumph Stag, the King of Triumph sports cars. With its high-revving 3.0 liter v-8 engine, it represents the high point of Triumph engineering. The car is straight, original, and completely rust-free, having always been a fair-weather driver and stored indoors. I am the third owner; the second owner purchased the car from a high-end sports and exotic dealership in 1984 with fewer than 25,000 original miles; it currently has just over 61,000 total original miles on it. The engine, transmission, cooling system, and exhaust were all overhauled at 50,000 miles as a matter of course; the second owner was a mechanical engineer and was obsessed with maintaining the Stag to the highest possible standard. I have stacks of receipts for thousands of dollars of work. This is an honest, original, unmolested car still wearing original paint; nothing hidden. Clear title in hand with no brands or issues. I will do my best to describe the vehicle as completely and accurately as possible: -1971 Triumph Stag with 4-speed manual transmission, original numbers matching drivetrain -Original engine and transmission were overhauled in the 90’s; the vehicle currently has only 61,000 original miles on it with less than 10K on the rebuilds. Along with the engine rebuild the timing chains and water pump were also replaced, as well as a new radiator installed, updating the cooling system. -Original 4-speed manual transmission rebuilt, including a new clutch and throw-out bearing. -New factory exhaust system concurrent with rebuilds -Front suspension rebuilt -Newly restored steel road wheels (including matching spare) -Brand-new sports radial tires all around -Brand-new brake system including calipers, pads, shoes, rotors and drums turned -Brand-new battery -Recent cooling system flush and check -Fresh fluids, filters, and tune-up -Original body panels throughout with ZERO RUST anywhere on the car -Original Damson *(maroon) paint with minor nicks, chips, and swirls shows well and shines nicely; you know EXACTLY what you’re getting… nothing covered up -Excellent stainless and chrome trim -Excellent glass -Clock replaced with a mechanical oil pressure gauge for accurate engine monitoring (original clock included) -Original Saddle Tan interior in very good condition -Runs and drives excellent -Soft top only; canvas is perfect, but the top needs new plastics -All gauges work; clock was replaced with a similar-sized mechanical oil pressure gauge... original clock comes with the car.-I have the wipers; got new refills and forgot to put them back on before taking pictures! -Power windows work perfectly, all interior lights work except driver's door safety lights; the switch is bad. All exterior lights work, turn signals, flashers, etc. Blaupunkt AM/FM/Cassette radio works. In short, everything seems to work save that door convenience light. -Does not leak any fluids at all; no drips. Does not smoke or burn oil. -The car came to me with the original wire wheels, as well as the steel wheels. The wire wheels were problematic (leaking air, not running true, etc.) so I restored the steel wheels and used them to mount the new tires upon. I no longer have the wire wheels. -Doors open and close perfectly... they sound and feel like those on a new car. -All data tags are original and intact. -No rust on the undercarriage at all. -The rack and pinion has been gone through as well. This is a 41-year-old car, and while the above description is accurate, it is being sold as-is without warranty expressed or implied.Terms of payment to be $1,000.00 deposit via PayPal at auction auction close, with the balance to be paid within 5 days via bank wire transfer, major bank cashier’s check (I must be able to verify the authenticity before releasing the vehicle), or cash in person.
