Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 You are bidding on a 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible project car. I inherited this car in 1991 from my aunt and uncle, who were the original and only persons to register this car. At that time it had a substantial amount of rust and bondo. I pulled the body off (after being properly supported). The chassis was sandblasted, correctly weld repaired in the corners and body mount areas (not just fish-plated but the rot was cut out and replaced with equivalent or thicker material form fitted to the original chassis profile). The chassis was then painted. The body was stripped down and lower quarters and wheels well portions were replace with panels from donor cars. The floor and trunk were patched. There is no bondo in this car. I then got busy and could not finish the car. Unfortunately, the body was not properly stored. The body acquired surface rust and the front floors and part of the trunk floor need to be re-replaced. The pictures show the worst of it. The rest of the body is straight but it will require a lot of sanding and surface filler. I have two rot-free doors and two restored front fenders along with the original doors, fenders, and a spare pair of fenders. Some of the trim is pitted. The rear bumper is in very poor shape. The interior is there but needs to be substantially freshened. The convertible top needs to be replaced but the frame is okay. The windshield is good. There are some cracks on the dash pad. The car has about 107,000 miles on it. In 1991 the engine ran well and the transmission had been rebuilt a few years earlier. The engine is the “Ultra High Compression” 330 cid V8 (with 4 barrel carburetor). The transmission is a two speed automatic with the switch pitch converter (rebuilt in 1982). The engine turns over easily but it has not been started since 1991, last year it was registered. I had been accumulating parts for this car. Included with this sale (but NOT installed) are: 1) Complete power disc brake kit for the front with booster and master cylinder. 2) New TRW heavy duty coil springs (CS5272 and CS5399). 3) New inner and outer tie rod ends. 4) New upper and lower ball joints. 5) New upper and lower control arm bushings (stock rubber, not urethane). 6) New idler arm. 7) New set of 4 gas shock absorbers. 8) New aftermarket rear control arms. 9) New gas tank and sending unit. 10) New aftermarket HEI distributor. 11) Used factory air conditioning unit from a 1967 Cutlass. Includes all the firewall items but not the compressor/brackets, evaporator, or interior parts. Also included in this sale is a 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible parts car located in Stephentown, NY. It has no engine or transmission and has seen the elements for a long time but it is good for some trim parts, panels, and rear end. This car is sold with a bill of sale only as NY did not offer titles for cars prior to 1973. I will not part this car out. Please don’t offer. The reserve is less than the cost of the parts that come with the car. Clearly this car will take a little more than a flat tow. I will do as much as possible to load the components on your truck. We have a forklift at the site. The car is located in Queensbury, NY (about 50 miles north of Albany). Thank you for bidding. If there are any questions or need additional information please post a question.
