Vehicle Detail

1967 Ford Mustang Coupe 351 Windsor 4 Speed Heidt’s 2 IFS Suspension This 1967 Mustang was originally a 289 C.I. PS, AT, AC car and was purchased new in Arizona and spent most of it’s life there until in the last decade when it was purchased and moved up to the Chicago area. The body is mostly original with Lime Gold Metallic paint and matching interior color. The original engine was replaced with a 351W bored out to 356 C.I. with fully assembled Edelbrock Performer RPM 351W Heads, 1.76 Roller Rockers, Edelbrock Performer Intake and Edelbrock 650 CFM Carb. This engine is topped off with the full MSD ignition setup, from the Box to the Distributor. The engine on the dyno put out 290 Horses at the rear wheel at 5500 RPM and has about 4,000 miles on it. The Transmission is a Toploader 4 Speed with Hurst Shifter and new Clutch. A lot of money was spent on the suspension as a new Heidt’s Mustang 2 Independent Front Suspension was installed with Rack and Pinion Steering. The rear suspension has Traction Bars and Air Shocks. The Rear End is an 8 inch with an Auburn HD Posi Traction Unit. The Interior is mostly stock with few cuts and scrapes. There is a steering column Tach with a LeCarra Steering Wheel and a Rampage CD AM/FM Radio. Mileage says 14,042, but the speedometer does not work and so the real mileage is unknown. Since this car spent most of it’s life in Arizona there is very little rust and is a solid car overall. If I kept the car, I would have the Trans looked at as there are some linkage adjustments that need to be made as it won’t go into 2nd and sometimes slips out of 3rd. There is a header exhaust leak that makes a ticking kind of noise. The Firestone Radial TA’s need to be replaced, not because of tread wear, but rather dry rot cracking. The Rear tires are P255/60R15 and the Front are P215/60R15 tires. The passenger outside door handle needs to be replaced and the passenger side window doesn’t roll all of the way up. Despite these problems, I still drive this Mustang almost daily as it’s fun to drive and a real head turner.
