Up for sale is a beautiful 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. This jeep has the legendary 4.0L inline six cylinder, which runs good and still has plenty of life left in it. The transmission was replaced two years ago and shifts flawlessly. This Jeep also has the NP242 Transfer Case which includes 2WD, 4WD Part Time, 4WD Full Time, Neutral (for flat towing the vehicle) and 4WD Low. It is a very good winter vehicle so don't miss out on it! The jeep has a few new parts, which include Idle Control Valve, Muffler, and Tailpipe. The interior of this jeep is in good condition: The headliner does not sag, there are no rips or tears in the seats, and the vehicle comes with heavy duty rubber floor mats and a rubber cargo mat. The interior will be thoroughly cleaned if sold. The exterior of the vehicle is also in good condition, although a tail-light does need to be replaced (see pictures). There is very little rust on the body and very few minor scratches, but nothing major that stands out. This jeep does have a few minor flaws, which do need some attention. 1) The check engine light is on in this vehicle. The dashboard gives code "72" which indicates that the Catalytic Converter needs attention. I was told by a local mechanic that it needs replaced, however this does not affect the way the vehicle drives. 2) The climate control needs attention as well. Although the heat is very hot, the A/C does not hold a charge for a very long time. Also, the air only blows on the floor. It does not matter what mode it's set in, the air only blows to the floor. Finally, the fan does not work on the "High" setting: It only works on "Low", and the 2nd and 3rd positions. 3) As mentioned earlier, the rear passenger taillight needs replaced (again, see pictures) 4) The rear drivers door does not operate correctly when the "Lock/Unlock" buttons are pressed. You have to manually lock or unlock the door. 5) The emergency brake does not work. 6) Sometimes, the vehicle will hesitate to start just a hair, and occasionally will stall while driving. This is most likely either a fuel filter or fuel pump. Overall, this Jeep is in fairly good condition and is a very comfortable ride. It does have a few problems, but if you are mechanically inclined, they should be no problem to fix yourself. The Kelly Blue Book Value is listed at $1,705 for "Good" condition, however this Jeep is being sold at a very reasonable price at $1,295. Local Pickup Only, no shipping.
