All the mechanicals have been gone through on this car. It has been well maintained, with genuine Volvo parts, most recently worked on by famed "Volvoman" Mike Schreiber. The motor is a B18, bored to B20 size. The SU carburetors are properly tuned. It has plenty of power. The idle is smooth. In the suspension are new bushings, tie rods, and ball joints. The shocks are KYB. The brakes are solid, with a new master cylinder and brake light switch. The clutch system is clean and like new. The wiring is excellent, with lots of new copper properly installed and no questionable connections or creative wiring. All the electrical components function properly: lights, overdrive, instruments (temp gauge is the VDO one mounted to the dash underside). The transmission has been upgraded to the overdrive M41 version, properly wired through the turn signal stock as per the 123GT style, with red indicator light in the dash. It operates smoothly. An extra steering box is included with this car at no extra charge, since the one currently in the car is at the end of its adjustment and could use replacement. We can install the replacement steering box here for a nominal cost, or simply ship it with the car if you prefer. The body is solid and rust-free; a California car. The paint is in very nice shape. It has a textured protective coating applied to the front nose area and the rockers, to prevent paint chips resulting from road debris; review the photos at the link below to see detail. The lenses are clean and intact. The chrome and aluminum brightwork are all clear and unpitted. The interior is in remarkable shape - clean upholstery and a newly-installed molded rubber floor mat, shipped from Volvo's Genuine Classic Parts division in Sweden. Here is an opportunity to drive away a beautiful and solid 122s with no further work needed.
