Vehicle Detail
This is a second-owner, well used and well cared for daily driver performance 1986 GT Mustang, ran regularly from 1986 to 2001. Just pulled out of storage, a classic case of "ran when parked". As described and as pictured, the car is used and exactly as pulled from storage, for sale as parts or for overhaul or restoration, or as a core for racing. The 302/ 5.0 Fuel injected V8 is free, not blown nor locked up. It ran strong when parked in 2001. The 5 speed had no issues. The car was never wrecked, never modified, no major mechanical work out side of tune ups, brake jobs, fuel pump, or tires. Everything under the hood is original, minus the battery which is 11 years old. The interior is sound, really good seats in the silver/gray/red trim. The chassis is solid, the body is straight, crusty, paint and clear-coat eroded, roof is solid but paint free, lower edges of door/rocker areas rusty, random spotting of rust and paint degradation. The frame and uni-body are solid, but as used and stored, crusty. Windshield is cracked. The rest of the glass is good. Seat frames and material and color intact. Accessory interior is weathered, some spotting, molding or superficial marking, all is original and as pictured. Some plastic parts are cracked. There were no major mechanical issues when parked. The car was driven in to storage and last fired up June of 2001. The car has not run since 2001. The systems are accordingly degraded. Rotors and drums are free, but rusted. Hydraulics are intact, but not functional. The original aluminum wheels and caps(not pictured) are included. The tires are weathered and need inflated for transport. The right side door upper hinge is unbolted from the pillar from a theft attempt, but intact. Doors open and close solid. The left front bumper and fascia is cracked, and the LF fender is binding on the door leading edge. Locks are frozen, deck lid lock is frozen. Clutch is working. Will need towed or trailer to transport. No warranty. No checks. Cash and carry. Clear, original title. Please ask as many questions that matter, otherwise assume this is a parts car and is as pictured. A classic "ran when parked".On Nov-01-12 at 18:07:23 PDT, seller added the following information: I have added four pics per request, closer views of the worst of the rust. The last four pics added are as follows: The left-lower door skin; Left rear 1/4; Right front-lower door skin; Right rear-forward 1/4. The floor pans are intact, and the chassis is as a whole intact. The outward appearance is relative to a poor basecoat clearcoat factory job. The paint was flaking off 20 years ago, and as a daily driver 8 months out of the year and then stored for 11 more years... it is what is photographed, and as car folks you know what weather and time do to these babies. I can not add any more pics, and will be happy to answer questions in the evening after work. This is a solid restoration base project, a solid parts car, a solid and unmodified ORIGINAL 1986 mustang GT.
