Vehicle Detail
Totally complete 1949 Chrysler Town and Country Convertible. In original barn find condition. Excellent starting point for restoration. Very nice original color combination. Very good wood throughout with serious needs only on the drivers rear quarter area. Rust through in rockers and some on the floors. Original engine turns and has been oiled but was not run. Surface rust only on the frame and inner fenders. Interior entirely original with some tears in the leather on the seats. Original door panels in good condition. All original controls and brightwork is there. Factory AM radio. Many spare parts in the trunk including the wood and door sheet metal that is off the car. Parts in trunk include boot, spare, missing wood, a grill, the radio and miscellaneous mechanical items. If you are looking for an honest, complete and correct car to start a restoration on, look no further. Car is in Spartanburg, South Carolina in climate controlled storage. Please feel free to click the contact seller link with any questions. This car is a genuinely nice starting point for a restoration of a very desirable and collectible Chrysler. Before I get any questions: 1) This car is an eight cylinder car. It is the first year the T and C Convertible came equipped as such. 2) The transmission is a fluid drive. It is a semi-automatic. Ebay did not give this as an option in the listing selections. Please understand that it does have a clutch but the car is considered 'automatic' due to its unusual transmission configuration. Many thanks and happy bidding. Feel free to call me at 860-883-3998 with any questions. I am happy to place a buy-it-now for any interested party prior to any bids on the car. After the first bid, The car will sell to the highest bidder and the auction will be permitted to run its full course.
