Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1968 AMC Rebel station wagon. This wagon is a nice rust free California car. The wagon has been fitted with a super nice running Chevy 350 that was pulled from a 72 Malibu. It fires right up everytime with a new battery and really runs nice. The motor was fitted with a new starter, new water pump, new 1 wire alternator, new plugs, wires, aluminum radiator, new battery cables, and a new HEI Dist. The motor was bolted to a rebuilt 700R4 transmission that shifts very smoothly as well. The car has factory power steering and that also works very well. It has factory a/c but that was not hooked up. I do have the factory AMC condenser and all the hoses to the front of the car and into the car. I don't have a compressor but one could easily be put on the motor with factory GM brackets. The body and paint on the car are not prefect, it is a good 10 footer as they say. A few dents here and there and the paint is a little dull in a few spots. The chrome roof rack strips were removed for paint and I have all them in the car. The interior of the car is fair. The door panels were cut up pretty good for speakers but they are original and there. The seats are in decent shape for their age. There is no carpet in the front area, the rear has the AMC rubber floor mats. The headliner is there and also in decent shape. All in all the car was a pretty good start and my dad and I went forward from there. We have been working on it for a few years and just ran out of time and space to play with it anymore. It has a clean California title. It also has air shocks and a tow hitch. The tailgate glass goes down fine manually with the fold out crank and then swings open like a barn door. I don't think they made a ton of Rebel wagons and for being a 1968 car it has some pretty funky touches. The radio ( not hooked up) rolls up and down for stations not side to side, the door locks are in the arm rests, there is a flip up a/c vent in the drivers face on the dash, the heater works but the control are too funny with funky names. Like any old car it needs a little of this and a little of that, but for the most part it is just a fun old car. Rear seat folds down flat and the color inside the car is a 2 tone bluish thing. Look at the pics and email for more information. The car is selling as is where is. There are no warranties implied expressed or given. Please be ready to pay for and pick up the car within 2 weeks of auction close. If you want to fly in and drive the car it will make any trip without any known issues to me. The headlights, turns signals and brake lights all work, the wipers seem to work when they want to. If you want to have the car transported please check the rates before you win the car. Buyer to pay all transport fees but I will help out in any other way that I can. The odometer reads 55,570 but the speedo is a 5 digit unit so the true miles are unknown to me. Comes as you see it. I don't have the 4th wheel to match the set of 70's mags, but tires are good on all 4 wheels. Brakes are also good. Car comes with an a new electric fan as well as well as the extra parts a/c parts shown in the back of the wagon. Even the towel! LOL. Thanks for looking and good luck.
