For Sale: 1968 Pontiac Firebird. This car was originally built as a 350 Automatic Car in Mayfair Maze (Yellow). The car now is equipped with a Pontiac 455 with 4X Heads. The transmission is a M20 Wide Ratio. This is a very solid driver car or drive as you restore candidate. The car was originally sold in College Park Maryland and lived most of its life in Virginia. The car is very solid on the underside, trunk is solid, will need a floor pan patch on the driver's side right under where the brake/gas pedals are located. It does need body work (quarter panel and door work), but is presentable for someone wanting to have a driver you can go anywhere in. The car has a smooth idle and is very pleasant to drive. It is also equipped with a 2.78:1 rear axle ratio which makes highway driving bearable at 65 mph. Recent upgrades to the HEI Ignition, Edelbrock Carburetor, New Tires on repainted rally wheels, new brake booster, brakes, and general maintenance. Full PHS documentation on the car. This vehicle is for sale locally as well and I reserve the right to end the auction early. I have a brand new 400 Hood (Has the Scoops) that I am willing to let go with the car for an added fee. If the car is purchased for my asking price, I will include it in the sale. I bought this hood about 4 years ago and has been sitting in a dry basement since. This car will need bodywork and paint. The quarter panels and doors are the trouble spots and the rest of it has aged well for a car that is 44 years old, but is not "show" quality by any means.
