Vehicle Detail
Up For auction is one 1969 MGB roadster, the car has not seen the light of day for 35 years and has not been cranked or worked on the odometer showsa only 25,211 miles which may be right considering the storage life and the originalty and solid body but I DO NOT KNOW i would assume it has 50,-60k because i do not know if it is correct but make no mistke this car has very very low miles. It comes with the factory option hardtop installed with all hardware, not to be mistaken for aftermarket hardtops which were not this expensive option The optional hardtops like this one are painted the same color as the car,a redish-orange This is the original paint. I am going to go ahead and list the bad parts of the car which is not much 1)both doors have harline cracks where the mirror mounts to the door typical for any MGB. 2)THE WINDSHIELD IS CRACKED 3) one bumper guard is dented and bent probably from someone dropping something on it in garge.4)the seats have impoded after 40+years they just need recovering everything else in the interior is great. 5) i have no idea how it got there but there is a pin sized hole on the lower right hand fender from rust? The entire rest of the car is as solid as a rck with NO RUST 6)there are some small dings 2-4 on the body where people have laid objects etc. and finally if you do not know about british cars if they have been sitting for this long they will need at least new hydraulics brake line clutch brake master cyl etc. that is it. now the good. The car had only 2 owners, original paint and factory hard top, Everything is so original no chinese parts on this car! The wiring harness is not cut anywhere, the original decals under the hood are all in place and readable. The car still has the original LUCAS headlamps that work. The car still has the optional BMC BRITISH MOTOR CORPORATION RADIO with all knobs and the original speaker all the switches are original lucas and feel and click great. The dash is in perfect ondition original NO CRACKS ANYWHERE, The car has a nice original aluminum hood this was the last year they were fitted wit that, new they are $1,200. We did not crank the car we did a compression check all cylinder are above 150 pounds of compression the engine has the original paint on it. All smog system part including pump work and are in original condition. The 30 year old white wall bf goodrich tires are up and the wire wheels look good there is afull spare in the trunk with original jack and bag. The car has an oil cooler original and ruuber mg amco floor mats. The car has agorgeous wood steering wheel that is in mint condition the only aftermarket piece on this car. It comes with the original top which the windows are white from time and the original stowaway top frame that look like it has never been used. This car has no rust issues the original whel wells floorboards etc. have the original undercoating see pics. This is the most original rust free NON RESTORED CAR I HAVE SEEN IN 15 YEARS AND I AM IN THE MG BUSINSESS. IT EVEN HAS THE ORIGINAL KANGOL SEAT BELTS CARPET OVER BATTERIES AND BATTERY COVER! 1969 was a good year to own the high back seats only came in 1969 the last year of the 2 piece red tail lights, the only yearsto have reflectors not side lamps on the fenders. last year of the aluminum hood. to me to the right person this car is worth 5k if someonE wants the most original and rust free 1969 MGB TO RESTORE This is the ieal project car that is not a mjor project no body damage no major rust souther garged car, ALL ORIGINAL please buy nos or oe equipment parts it would be s shame to put aftermarket parts on this car that it is why this car is special this car has not been cranked you will need a flatbed or trailer YOU CAN COME LOOK AT THIS CAR ANYTIME IN BIRMINGHAM ALABAMA MON-THUR 7.30-5.00 FRIDAY-SAT BY APPOINTMENT ANY QUAESTIONS E-MAIL OR CALL 205-251-5800
