Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1966 VW Bug Convertible. This is an original California Black Plated car (I have copies of the original pink slip to prove that it has not had black plates re-assigned to it.) I have done a lot of work to this car, but it still needs to be finished. Odds & ends. I have receipts for everything that was done to it. It was a body off restoration. The pan (top &bottom), transmission, front & rear axles have been powder coated. New West Coast Metric seals everywhere. Original 1300 cc engine has been rebuilt with new heads, lifters and case savers. New clutch assy. New 12V battery, starter and alternator. New Stayfast Gray cloth top with new headliner. All convertible top bows have been replaced. New chrome accent pieces for the top exterior. All new top seals. Bumpers, convertible latch assy, interior light housing, turn signal housing and window frames were all re-chromed. New TMI carpet and door panels. New running boards. New gas tank. New exhaust and heat exchangers. New fuel pump and carb. New windshield. New brakes. As you can see I have spent a lot of resources getting this bug to almost completion. As mentioned it needs odds and ends: door handles, radio, some electrical gremlins (horn, turn signals, wiper motor). Brakes, although new, are spongy - probably from sitting. Windows need adjusting. Clutch cable is at the end of it's adjustment, so I suspect it needs a new one. (The only thing I didn't replace!) It has zero miles on the rebuild. It is titled and up to date on all fee's, but not insured - so Cal DMV wouldn't issue a registration. The reason I'm selling it is due to a job transfer and I don't want to take it with me. I will require a 25% deposit at the end of the auction thru PayPal, with full payment expected within 7 days via cashiers check from a major bank that I will verify. Buyer is responsible for transport. And please no Nigerian Bank money order "deals of a lifetime". I believe we are all beyond that. Happy bidding!
