Vehicle Detail
This Galaxie 500 convertible was recently purchased by me from an estate. The man who owned this prior to me was a certified master mechanic. He had bought this car so that he and his son could restore it together. Unfortunately, shortly after buying this car he fell ill and passed away. His son is selling off his estate and I purchased this car from the son. It is in need of a complete restoration.Body work, interior work, ect. I was told by the son that the engine was tuned up by his dad and that the car runs well. The ignition is out so I haven't figured out how to start it. The exhaust appears newer. The trunk is full of chrome trim, interior parts and knobs. The interior is all taken apart as this is a started project, the car appears complete but alot of the trim and cosmetic parts are in the trunk as I have already stated. Also included with this sale is some spare parts that the man had bought in order to restore this Galaxie(drivers side rear fender,4 doors, and many other parts). There is a new convertible top on it and I have the reciept for the work. The rear drivers side floor has small rot holes through it but the rest of the floor seems good, the trunk is solid with the exception of a rot area about the size of a Quarter.Good Luck!On Oct-14-12 at 15:21:47 PDT, seller added the following information:Just an update, I had a mechanic come by and look at the Galaxie. He took 3 pieces of tin foil and connected them to the ignition and the car started right up and sounds great. He showed me how to start it so I will be able to show the winner. He also looked at the frame and told me that the frame is in solid great condition. Then offered to buy the car which is obviously a great sign. Bid with confidence as I am now positive that this car is a winner.
