**RELISTED for non-payment** NEW LOWER RESERVE and LOWER BUY IT NOW We are offering our hard to find, ’68 912, soft window Targa in desirable Champagne Yellow with newly built, top of the line engine. The car is regretfully being sold now as we have recently moved and my job requires travel 50% of the time (also our driving season is very limited). There is so little time to drive or play with this great 912. Since having a NEW engine built in fall of 2011, we have driven less than 100 miles. That is unacceptable! So we feel it is time to let the next owner enjoy our car. Please see pictures here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jrrf3xmwyopxarh/iL7NpARsT7 Some of the cars highlights Rare soft window Targa, less than 150 documented examples Beautiful color combination – Champagne Yellow / Tan (interior) – painted in 2000 1720cc upgraded NEW engine (numbers matching according to COA) 5-speed transmission – smooth shifting New Bursch exhaust makes this car sound and feel fantastic Beautiful original chrome wheels Interior in excellent condition, replaced during 2000 restoration Newer rear window and top All electrical in good working order – including clock, lights, blinkers etc Undercoat replaced – no signs of damage or rust Rare radio delete plate (though aftermarket AF/FM/CD player was added below dash) Rare rear seat delete No areas of rust concern. A few are listed here: Porsche 912 Workshop ManualThe Complete Porsche 912 Guide Porsche 912 (The orange book) – the book every 912 owner should have How to keep your VW alive Porsche 912 Owners Workshop Manual Chilton’s Porsche Three Weber carb books Plus 4 others In addition are these highly desirable manuals: Porsche Type 912 Workshop ManualPorsche 912 Service GuideBoth Harry Pellow books in digital format Plus 5 years of notes and technical articles I compiled listed by topic The car is generally in excellent condition. The few issues are shown in the photos in the link above. Many have asked to describe the issues with the car as I see them: 1. Seals around doors need some attention. Could be as simple as gluing back into place. 2. Small area (1") at bottom, front of passenger door where paint show a couple small cracks. Likely an area of repair in the past. 3. Very small paint chip on engine lid edge. 4. Small (<1") paint bubble near the left, mid body panel near the engine lid. 5. Minor engine oil leak where full flow oil line runs into cooler (I think - haven't dropped the engine to isolate) 6. Engine was built to run rich during break in period. Will need to be re-tuned and valves adjusted in a few hundred miles. The good news: 1. Several have asked whether there even is a back window. YES there is a back window in very good condition, vinyl supple, window very clear. 2. Top is in very good condition. Supple, no nicks, cuts or repairs. has been stored on its side so material has settled. Once on or placed in the sun it should look great. More questions asked: 1. What does the COA list as color? Exterior: 6807 Sand Beige Interior: Black2. How can I state that engine is numbers matching if new? The engine cover is where the engine number is stamped. Since it isn't a piece subjected to wear, it is easy to move to the new motor, which is what we did. Do not bid if you have less than 10 feedback without contacting me first.
