You are bidding on a very nice, one-owner, 1998 GMC Sierra SL, 3500 Crew Cab, Long Bed, 4x4 in excellent condition, with less than 139,000 miles on the odometer. It has the 5.7L (350c.i.) Vortec engine and automatic 4-speed, overdrive transmission. This one-ton, crew cab is very difficult to find with the 5.7L engine and single rear wheel (not dually.) The engine has plenty of power, but gets much better fuel economy than the more common 7.4L engine. This is the best of the new and old in one truck. You get the late-model Vortec engine, and updated computer, with the roomier and more comfortable interior (especially for the rear passengers) of the old body style. I am listing this truck for the original owner, who is an aircraft mechanic and has all the service records. The engine runs strong and smooth, with good compression and no issues. It doesn’t leak any fluids. The transmission is crisp and smooth. The 4-wheel-drive works perfectly. The brakes are excellent. The tires are virtually new (better than 95% tread.) The air conditioning blows ice cold. Exterior Cosmetic Condition: This is a rust-free California truck! The paint is new. (Not show-quality, but a properly prepped, nice-looking acrylic paint job.) The chrome looks great, and the aluminum wheels are very nice, with minimal curb rash. All weather stripping is in great shape. Interior Cosmetic Condition: The interior looks very nice. This is the base-model, with cloth seats, rubber floor mat (no carpet), plastic door panels, and manual windows. There are no rips or tears in the upholstery. There is a place near the driver’s seat bolster that is rubbing thin. (See photos.) A hole has worn through on the rubber floor mat where the driver’s heels go. It is covered up by another mat. The driver’s door panel has some scratches and fading on top, near the window. The driver’s power door lock switch is inoperative. (The passenger side works.) The owner is a non-smoker.
