Well, this is surely a bittersweet day. I have lost my storage building and several of my cars would have to live outside...so it is better if they have a new home. This car is especially difficult to part with because it is so nice and original. It is a US sold (LHD) 1953 Armstrong Siddeley sapphire 346 sedan. It is certainly one of the best, never rusted, never wrecked examples you will ever find. Fully known to Armstrong Siddeley owners group in UK (who have a great parts warehouse). I am member #2020. This car was sold new in NYC and was always maintained by active club memeber , Mr Cavanaugh until his death. After I got the car we completely redid the brakes (whitepost did the wheel cylinders). Car has had many new parts, carbs, distributor cap, motor mounts, exhaust downpipe. I have all new door weather stripping that goes with car. Car runs great and we drive it around our parking lot. Seats have been redone in full leather at some time and are nice, but the pristine body is priceless. When you see the RHD examples that have lived in England for anytime at all, you will appreciate how rare this car is to have a completely no rust body and undecarriage. Tool kit is fully complete and all doors, windows, glass, is good and intact, In fact the front and rear windshield rubber is still great and does not need replacing. Car is complete, including 2 new rear bumper overriders, and the speedo is there but out of the car for access to ignition switch.There a couple of paint scrapes on the car but nothing is rusty. I would just touch up the couple places with the touch up paint in the trunk and use car like it is. As they say, "it's only original once". Car has been sitting around alot in the last couple years until we could get to it to finish it. (Not always easy with 30+ cars) So it will need new tires and checking out before any road trips. I am assuming, if you are reading this ad that you know of the high quality cars the Armstrong Siddeleys were. The cars were discontinued in favor of the aircraft engines the same Hawker, Siddeley, Rolls Royce company made and still makes. These cars rivaled anything built in England for many years. It has a great running , powerful 6 cylinder engine and a brilliant Wilson preselect semi automatic transmission (just like the American Cord Car had). To find a Left hand drive car in this condition is virtually impossible, and yet here it is.... My loss is your gain, so happy bidding... I'm sorry I wasn't clear about that but all the chrome is beautiful. I really don't think anything needs rechromed. All that was missing was 2 rear bumper overriders and I bought them new (rechromed) from the Armstrong siddeley owners club store in England. These guys are serious and seem to have everything for these cars. It's a great help I wish other cars had this good of parts supply.
