2002 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen GLX in very, very nice condition. Adult owned and all maintenance done and ready to drive many carefree miles. New Brakes, Clutch, Cooling fan and more. I just did a three hour drive today and this car was lovely. Great power, luxury and road feel. Don't let it pass you by! If you are reading this, you probably already know all about the Sportwagen GLX from 2002, with its top of the line black leather interior, wood trim, smooth and powerful VR6 engine, front wheel drive with ABS, Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) and safety features galore. And of course the wonderful luxury equipment that make it a fun car to drive every day, like automatic wipers, glass moonroof, memory seats and Monsoon stereo. This is a MK IV series car built in Wolfsburg, Germany. As a top of the line GLX model, the interior features many leather covered surfaces, including steering wheel, center armrest, front and rear seats and door panel inserts. There are woodgrain accents on the dash, center console and doors. The interior is in very good condition, with no rips or other damage to the seats or carpeting. Front seats are all electric with memory for 3 drivers and 5 level seat heating. The engine is the 2.8 liter VR6, with excellent power and very smooth operation. The standard features on the GLX model vehicle are many, and are listed at the end of the description. The optional features on this Jetta GLX are the (now removed 4 speed automatic) 5 MANUAL speed GTI transmission and the 17” alloy wheels. The interior seats are really in excellent condition, The carpets are in good condition, always covered with factory floor mats. The door panels are very good, as is the rear cargo area. I have a new rear cargo mat (VW OEM version) installed. Silver metallic with a Black Leather Interior. Paint is all original, there is no paintwork. There are some small paint chips on the trailing edge of the driver’s door, on the door itself and on the passenger door on drivers side, and a small ding on the passenger’s side rear door near the handle (hard to see and even harder to photograph). The 17” wheels are in very good condition and have no bends or excessive curb rash. This vehicle has been treated to _better_ than the recommended maintenance schedule, with synthetic oil used in the engine since purchase. There is only one functional issue, the interior switch for the rear hatch does not always operate, and I use the key to open the hatch most of the time. The roof antenna rubber also looks a bit worn. Otherwise, there are simply no mechanical issues with the vehicle at all. No smoking, no racing, no modifications, no accidents, no surprises. Carfax is clean. I recently had the vehicle state inspected for Pennsylvania though December 2012. All services and campaigns are completely up to date. Front and Rear tires have just been rotated and are fine now but I think will have to be replaced in about 15K miles. As noted above, this vehicle was converted (by me) to a 2002 GTI 5 speed manual transmission. This was done using 100% factory parts and includes a NEW Sachs Clutch, Pressure Plate and Throwout bearing which now have only 300 miles on them. I had the engine computer replaced with a remanfactured ECU, professionally programmed as a manual car with the latest VR6 software. No check engine lights or any other issues. This was done because the automatic transmission (01M) was failing and is a known trouble spot on these vehicles. In preparation for sale, I have fitted all new brakes front and rear (rotors and pads) and done a brake fluid flush.
