Vehicle Detail
76 TR with 14K miles - I purchased this car in 2010 from a collector in CO. It has had multiple owners as follows: BoughtMileageSold MileageOwnerLocationComments1976 0Late 80s2,500VRDeceasedBritish Leyland Factory Rep.Late 80s2,500Dec-986,057SSOHFamily was the local dealer, purchased the car from the factory rep. Won local concours in the late 90s.Dec-986,057May-0410,000JROHDoes not remember exact mileage, thinks it was about 10,000. Car won several local concours.May-0410,000Feb-0612,984JMCAFeb-0612,984Feb-1013,10MYCOFeb-1013,10013,990RWOWI I spoke to each owner to confirm the service history and try to get all missing docs. The car is in original condition throughout and was maintained with a focus on keeping it original over the years. The only non-origional item is the radio, somewhere in the history someone installed an AM/FM CD player in the car. It retains the original speaker setup. The car runs and drives fantastic. Every TR owner I have let drive the car, including the local service shop (the owner owns a TR6), says it's the best driving TR they have experienced. It's starts easily and runs great. I don't hesitate to take it on a Sunday drive and I don't even carry tools with me! I have most of the service records from new along with "Certified Copy of a Factory Record" and the original "Passport to Service" showing it's in service date of 6/7/77. I literally have a huge stack of receipts and/or service history going back to the 1980s. Since I have owned the car I have done the following services: New Battery ($165)New Michelin Redline Tires from Diamond Back Classics ($1,042)Rebuilt Alternator ($125)This Service ($1,478) - New Springs (standard ride height)- Oil Service- New Plug Wires, Distributor and Rotor Cap- New Hoses here and there- Rebuilt the Radiator- Had the ride height setup properly after new springs The seats foams were replaced before I got the car. Interior is in excellent original condition. The exterior is also in original condition and does show the surface scratches you would expect for a 36 year old car. The records show that the right rear panel was repainted in the 1970's. No indication of why (the original owner passed away) and I cannot find any indication of what the damage might have been. You can see that panel clearly in the pics and there are several under body and chassis pics. It's a great car; I just have 7 cars and a motorcycle and need to thin the herd!! I paid top dollar for this car ($22,000) and I do expect to take a huge loss. My loss is your gain. This is a great example of a TR6; as Jeremy Clarkson says, it's not a car, it's a time machine. Whenever I drive it it takes me back to the 70s cruising the north Texas roads in my buddies TR250! You can find 55 photos on flickr.com here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/86596183@N04/sets/72157631632269273/ In addition to the wheels/tires on the car, I have the original wheels with the original Michelin Redlines on them. They include the trim rings and are shown in the pics on flickr. Good luck!
