Up for auction is my 1991 Lincoln Town Car/Gold Edition. This vehicle is my work car, I am selling because I will be transferring to Japan later this month. I would rate this car as "Good" condition, considering it's age and the amount of maintenance that has been done on the vehicle. This car would be good for someone who needs a good work car, or something to drive them around reliably for a few years until they choose to buy a newer car. I have personally owned this car since around 2003, I purchased it to be my driving car for while back home on vacation from Japan. This is not the prettiest car, but it's very reliable and I invested a lot of time and money into the drive-train and suspension..I had all of the power windows repaired, so no lazy or non functioning power windows to deal with.. As a side note, this car recently passed the California State Inspection..1st time through!!! I have included a photo of that document, as well. Car has a clear Ohio Title. I didn't plate it for Cali, on count of needing 6-8 weeks for the title to arrive from Sacramento. I'm off to Japan the 19th, so... Here is a description of the car... Goods and bads. - Completely and professionally rebuilt transmission. Completed a year ago by University Transmission. $1700. Cause of initial problem- Grommet near the throttle body broke, causing loss of hydraulic pressure to the tranny. This is apparently a common problem with the Town cars as they age. Tranny completely overhauled and new grommet installed. Less than 500 miles on the transmission. - Rotors and brakes are new on all four corners of the car. Less than 400 miles on them. - New white wall tires on all four corners of the car, done at same time as rotors and brakes. Less than 400 miles on the tires. - AC blows cold! R-134 Conversion done in 2010, at Bob Gillingham Ford/Brook Park, Ohio. Water pump was always replaced new at this time - Rear air suspension and control arms were replaced less than 8,000 miles ago by Bob Gillingham Ford/ Brook Park,Ohio. - Aftermarket JVC CD player installed with remote - Car is clean inside and smells good. Bad Points - Roof and trunk lid are faded from the sun - Driver seat is torn and faded, other seats are faded due to sun and age - Head liner could use replaced if you have the time, sags in a few spots but not so bad. - Power antenna needs replaced - Vehicle has some rust underneath, as it was parked in my home town of Cleveland while I was overseas. Brake lines were replaced, however. Like I said, good car for driving around for a few years. - Sometimes the digital gas meter will display the wrong fuel level, but then it will return to the actual setting. I got used to it and just didn't ride it around on empty all the time as a precaution. Basically, a lot more money was put into this car than what it's worth.... I have over $7000 invested in repairs and upkeep. This car doesn't really need anything in turn for you to drive it until the wheels fall off. This is a no reserve auction. I'll include an extra newer battery that I purchased for the car, even though it turned out not to need it. I also recently completely charged both batteries on my bench. Car is ready to go. I have a few extra amps and speaker sets, which could be added in for someone interested in setting up their own audio system. So, I'm open to offers and deals....
