THANKS. 1959 PLYMOUTH SAVOY 4-DOOR SEDAN: This is a nice looking car and a fraction of the price of a hardtop coupe. You get the cool 50's look without the big price. This year has what may be the biggest fins plymouth ever put on a car. This is a clean car with very little rust. It is as original as you will generally find. Here are all the details. DRIVETRAIN The plymouth has the inline flathead six cylinder with pushbutton auto. The car runs great and has a rebuilt carb with new electric fuel pump. It runs smooth and is very quiet. Starts up every time. The motor looks completely original besides the fuel pump. Brakes work but it needs a new master cylinder. You have to keep them pumped up. I've bled them and that is not the problem. I may get that fixed before it sell The transmission works as it should. It actually drives really nice but I didn't go really fast due to the brakes not working right. Frontend feels tight (good), with no vibrations or wobbling. Tires are decent but I believe at least one has weather checking. Parking brake doesn't work. All the gauges work besides the speedometer. Has great oil pressure, even when warm. Fuel tank pickup tube is plugged so a temporary tank/jug is being used. This works for loading/unloading but the tank needs to be fixed for normal driving. Headlights work. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to give it a tune-up, but it does run very nice. The car needs no major mechanical work. VIDEO OF ENGINE RUNNING: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyeG3Xln7Hc&list=UU4esbek5828OaKDQfAVaxGw&index=1&feature=plcp BODY The body on this is very nice overall. Floor pans are rust free. Trunk pan has surface type pitting/flaking but is completely solid. I poked around extensively with a pick and there are no soft spots. If you put a new trunklid seal on it and paint the trunkpan with por15, it will last forever. The car has rust behind both rear wheels, down low. Fairly easy fix. Passenger side has minor rust in the fender lip around rear wheel. Not bad compared to most, but it's there. Could be patched without having to put a quarter on it. Minor rust in rocker, in front of drivers side rear wheel. Overall, the rust on this car would be somewhat easy to fix but it looks nice the way it is and you can't really see the rust until you get close. No other rust in the car. The frame, roof, jams, pillars, dash, firewall, header, hood, doors, trunklid, etc. are in nice shape. The drivers front fender is tweaked a little. Besides those areas, the body is very straight. Glass: The windshield is nice but has 2 chips. Side windows all work and are in decent shape. All doors open/close properly, as does the trunk and hood but trunk needs a new lock. They are pretty cheap new. INTERIOR The interior is usable but basically needs full resto. A couple door panels have been taken out because they were bad but all hardware is included. All original window mouldings are included and nothing is wrong with them. The car needs: headliner, package tray, door panels. Seats and carpet are usable but not real nice. Dash is in good shape. Has vintage looking oil pressure and volt meter gauges and oil pressure gauge works. All gauges work besides speedometer. These gauges could have been dealer added but not sure. They look old though. OVERALL This is a really cool car and will get the attention that the high dollar stuff does. Great family car to cruise in or go to carshows. Thanks and happy bidding. On Sep-27-12 at 20:12:47 PDT, seller added the following information: New master cylinder has been installed. Brakes still need bled and I'll try to get that done asap. Carb still needs adjusted. Runs fine but needle & seat sticks sometimes. One rear floorpan has minor rust that I missed before.
