Vehicle Detail
HERE IS ANOTHER CAR FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION. THIS ONE IS A VERY RARE 1959 CHEVY BROOKWOOD WAGON IN GOTHIC GOLD WITH WHITE TWO-TONE THAT IS MATCHING NUMBERS AND TURN-KEY READY TO CRUISE! Please e-mail me with questions or to set up an inspection to see the car in person. Wheels pictured do NOT come with the car, but can be purchased separately (it will come with 15" steel wheels with moon caps and trim rings and good tires) Vehicle came out of dry Colorado. Previous owner had it on the west coast most of its life, and it's a dry desert car for the most part. He took it out every once in a while with his kids cruising around, but never did anything to it. Recently I had it spruced up a bit by cleaning and detailing the engine compartment, I also had my upholstery guy redo most of the interior (new door panels, headliner, carpet, etc.), added American Racing 19 and 20" wheels and brought it back to the two-tone paint combination by having the body wetsanded and buffed and the top end painted in white as you can see. OPTIONS: Manual Steering Manual drum brakes Manual windows 3 speed manual transmission on the column 283ci 2bbl. motor Two-tone paint color Black bench seat interior Upgraded 19 and 20" wheels (NOT INCLUDED but can be purchased separately) Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great along with the nice subdued stock exhaust system. Transmission is solid and has a good clutch and shifts good through all the gears without any noises or grinding. Now as for driving the car, i've taken it out mostly around the neighborhood here and there for a few functions, every once in a while I take it to a local cruise night. Idles nicely. Never overheats. You can cruise with it on the highway all day and I would trust it to drive anywhere at the drop of a hat. Motor is a stock 283ci 2bbl. with NO performance upgrades whatsoever. Bone stock with original exhaust manifolds, intake, carburetor, etc. Has been rebuilt supposedly in the late 1990s, with very little use since then. I have only tuned it, adjusted the carburetor a bit to suit, and cleaned it up as you can see. Interior is very nice overall with NEW headliner, NEW door panels, NEW carpeting, and redied seats throughout. Shows nicely but is NOT show quality. Underside is pretty clean throughout with SOLID frame, although the floors and part of each rocker appear to have a few small holes, otherwise it's dry as a bone down there. The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course so please keep that in mind when bidding. Paint is in good shape and cleans up well but has some imperfections here and there as you would expect from an older respray. Gauges need to be gone through (speedo needs new cable and smaller ones need calibrating at the least). Chrome should be redone to bring it up to the next level (door handles, spears, bumpers). So overall she is not perfect and will need some form of TLC depending on how nice you want it to be and what you plan to do with the car. If you just want a GOOD LOOKING DRIVER needing tlc, this is the car for you. If you want a show car, it will need some considerable investment or total restoration to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.
