Vehicle Detail
Offered for sale here is a great little MGB (not sure if its a GT or Base, but considering its 4-spd, without overdrive, I believe its the base). I bought it as a car to restore, and decided restoring old english cars is not my thing -- I don't have the time or background. The body of the car is in great condition for its age. I get compliments on the car and its looks everywhere I go. The paint was redone not so long ago and shines really nicely. The chrome is great and the bumpers were redone when it was painted. All trim is present and in nice shape. The interior is very sharp with the seats, door panels and dash in good condition as well. The spare tire and wheel are present and tool bag as well. This car is converted to 12 volt (neg. ground) and the battery is relocated to the trunk (which makes it easy to access). It has factory wire wheels with knock offs, and the tires are correct as well. It appears to have had a recent exhaust system installed. The under body is very solid and rust free. The engine runs and the clutch and transmission shift smooth. The engine smokes (blue) when running and is not entirely reliable (it will need some work before the car becomes a trusted daily commuter), but has good power and a recent compression check of each cylinder resulted in good numbers (105-115). The suspension and steering feel good and makes the car nice to drive. It has a new starter, and the speedo works, but the Tach is still a positive ground model so does not work with the new batteries. The headlights and running lights all work, and the tail-lights work, but the left-rear tail-light needs a new bulb housing. There is an intermittent short that sometimes drains the battery when parked too long. You will need to put a new soft top on it if you like, all the frame work is present however. There is a nice tonneau cover included. Please feel free to email with any questions or if you want more photos. Ask any and all questions before bidding! If you win it you own it! Thanks for looking and happy bidding =)
