Vehicle Detail

I have for sale my 1973.5 Porsche 911T. I purchased this car from the original owner in late 2009 with approx 91,800 miles. He purchased it new on 9-15-73 from Contemporary Cars in Orlando, Florida. The car now has 92,274 miles. I recently purchased another 911 and now this one must go. The fact that I've only driven it less than 500 miles in 3 years makes me want to sell this to someone who will use it more often and enjoy it. The original owner was an engineer who documented everything to a level that I've never seen. The car comes with full and complete documentation on everything that has ever been performed to the car. Included in the documentation is the original window sticker, invoice (he paid $11,208.32 back in 73), all repair receipts including an engine rebuild at 75,968 miles by Hoffman Porsche dealer in East Hartford, CT on 6/15/81. He even documented the gas fills. He tracked # of gallons, price paid and date with out fail until he parked it in '99. At this point the original owner decided to pull the gas tank for cleaning (he was having some running issues) & also to remove the ventilation system to fix some rattles under the dash. With family and work taking up most of his time he never had a chance to put the tank and ventilation system back in. The car sat in his garage until I purchased it IN 2009. I installed the tank and vent system and got it back up and running. The interior is in very original condition. Nothing has been altered from new. No holes have been added for an aftermarket radio. The original radio is still there and it works well through the single dash speaker. The dash is original including speaker grill. It doesn't have a single crack in it. The gauges all work and are in very nice shapre. All interior trim, panels, etc. are in excellent shape. You feel like your in a time warp when you sit in the car. The headliner does have some minor glue bleed through however. Although the pictures show the coco mats they are not included. They were far too bad to be kept and were discarded. The body is solid but does have dings along the sides of the car. The hood and fenders look great. They were repainted by Auto Associates in 1999 to repair some rust on the fenders. The car does have a couple of minor rust areas in the door jambs and also the pass side qtr window. See the detailed pictures. All other areas are solid. I took pictures of the front pan area prior to putting the gas tank in. It gives you an excellent idea of the condition of the sheet metal without the gas tank in the way. Unfortuneately I didn't take pictutres of the trunk area with the tank installed. I have the car in storage so it's a little difficult to take the pictures. If you are an interested buyer and want to see the tank installed I can make arrangements to go take pictures of the tank installed. I can assure you it's installed correctly with the correct installation seal. The paint does have some paint cracking on the deck lid and parts of the rear quarters. A soft exterior restoration would bring this car to a nice level. The car comes with the desirable factory fog lights. At some point the original owner changed the fog lights with aftermarket units that were installed on the original factory mounts. I still have the original fog lights and are included with the car. I believe the car also came with the S trim package (which is listed as Option Group G03 on the window sticker). All bright trim work is in very nice shape and shows nicely. Mechanically the car is good. The engine starts and runs fine. The only problem is that sometimes it's hard to start when hot. I replaced the fuel pump and fuel accumulator but it still has the problem. The transmission shifts well as long as you take your time with the shifts. Typical with a 915 gearbox. Engine does drip a little oil when parked. Not too much, but you will see a few drips on the floor after it sits for a while. A/C is all there but does not have the belt attached. I never tried to get it going so I can't comment on the condition. I'm assumming that it at least needs to be charged. Brake pedal recently feels a little low. Not sure if it needs a bleeding or a master cylinder. All brake calipers and hoses were replaced with new oem units just before it went into storage back in 1999. They all look good. Here's a chance to own a piece of history. Not to often that an unmolested 911 that is fully documented to this level comes along. Thanks for looking!
