FEEL FREE TO MAKE AN OFFER AT ANYTIME. WE CAN ALSO TALK VIA PHONE. 1962 FORD ECONOLINE HOTROD TRUCK! This is a cool little project and will be an easy restoration. It is rust free! The Truck runs excellent and sounds awesome. It has a rebuilt gm performance drivetrain. How often do you see these at car shows? They look sweet when fixed up and get lots of attention. It would be great as a hotrod, ratrod (traditional), or would be an easy gasser since it has a solid axle already. Here are all the details. Included below are links to more pictures and a video. Included are pics of other econolines. PHOTOBUCKET LINK: http://s942.photobucket.com/albums/ad267/tutheck5/econoline/ YOUTUBE VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6Ii7Kn-Fjg&list=UU4esbek5828OaKDQfAVaxGw&index=1&feature=plcp MECHANICAL The pickup has a rebuilt small block chevy. I did not rebuild it myself and have no receipts on it. I do know the gentleman I bought the truck from and trust that he knew that it was rebuilt. I've known him for years and bought several cars from him with no surprises. It has edelbrock intake/carb. I was told it has pink rods, performance cam and heads, and is balanced. It runs super smooth and sound sweet. Paint still looks new on the engine. The exhaust is new and has flowmaster type mufflers and sounds great. The engine doesn't smoke, tick, knock or leak. There is no abnormalities. No blowby. It does have an a/c pump mounted on it. This is equipped with a electric fan, although there is room for a regular fan. The fan does have a thermo switch but is just wired directly now because I wasn't sure if the thermo-switch worked. Fan is on a toggle switch now. There are no gauges, but I drove it and it didn't get hot or overheat. It has good power but the 4-barrels aren't working. They work when linkage is operated by hand but linkage/cable needs to be modified or adjusted for them to work with the pedal. It has good power now and spins the tires easily. Should be a banshee with the carb working properly because this thing is light. Kingpins in the front need re-done. This is a somewhat easy process I just have not had time. Kit is included. Front tires aren't good either, rears are good. I drove it fast enough too see that all the gears work, but it wanders pretty bad. I'm sure the wide tires on the front don't help and they are worn out also. It should drive fine when the frontend is fixed and better tires put on. This has a camaro 10-bolt rear with front disc conversion also with chevy bolt pattern. Brakes work. The transmission is a three-speed auto but not sure if it's a 350 or 400. I can find out if it matters to you. It works great and doesn't slip. The pan gasket leaks a little so it should be replaced at some point. The wheels are 17". This has a homeade shifter on the dash, and comes with another shifter out of an a100 van. I would personally get rid of the dash shifter altogether and get a floor mounted gennie type shifter or ratchet shifter. You can get various types of longer handles that would fit perfectly in this. Lights and turn signals work. Overall the truck is mechanically sound but will need the frontend fixed. BODY This truck is rust free! It has been painted before and you can see the original red color in the jams. I've inspected it extensively and found no rust. The majority of the body is single wall metal, so it is would be really difficult to hide any rust. It has bondo in a couples spots but no rust under it that I could find. There is really only one bad spot of filler that is on the passenger side box. It is where a dent was fixed and not done properly. The bondo is cracking and I used an ice pic to push on the metal through the cracks and there is no rust under it and you can easily see the other side from the inside of the box anyways. I didn't want to take the bondo off because the truck looks ok now so you may want to drive it as is. Filler in a few other spots but nothing too heavy. Magnet sticks everywhere except the box side and the small area on the front drivers corner that you can see about halfway up the cab. It's another spot of filler that isn't too thick but is coming off. As you can see in the photobucket links, I looked in every nook and cranny and the body is dry, it was just unfortunately painted by an amateur. Extra glass for wing windows is included for both sides. Windshield in good shape. The tailgate has no latches on it now. I'm not sure what was on it before but I used a strap to tie it shut while hauling it. Inside of the box is near perfect. Front bumper is in good shape, rear is rough. Drip rails, undercarriage, unibody frame, jams, floors, pillars, etc. etc. all in nice shape and rust free. Overall, it will need some bodywork to get it ready for paint but is a real solid truck for a project. INTERIOR The seats are in decent shape. There is no carpet and no radio. Doors and windows need the usual seals/felt but do operate properly. Headliner needs done. OVERALL This will make a cool hotrod, rat rod, original restoration, or? Have you ever seen a pro-touring '62 econoline or gasser? Thanks for looking and happy bidding and rodding. THIS VEHICLE IS SOLD AS-IS AND IS USED AND OLD.
