Take a look at this awesome fully customized 1964 Ford Ranchero 4x4 that was built by a father and son as a project. There were over 4000 man hours, 4-years of labor and $40,000 invested to build this one of a kind crowd stopper show truck. The father was a custom metalsmith in which he used his skills to make one off parts for this project. Most of the body work and frame work is not something that can be purchased off the shelf. The truck was completely dismantled, body off, full custom boxed steel frame with underbody panels that are all hand built aluminum and anodized as seen in many of the photos. Custom Aluminum Fuel Tank as well. The shock support mounts, front and rear, are also custom hand built out of aluminum like jewellery. The front Axle are Jeep Model 27A Spicer with custom designed front Disc Brakes.The rear end looks to be a Jeep/Spicer Model 44 Rear Axle with 11" Jeep Drum Brakes. The engine is a 215 Buick Aluminum Block V8 that's been built to about 300HP. Offenhauser Valve covers, Edelbrock Intake Manifold with a Holley 4-barrel Carbs, chromed out alternator, aluminum alternator bracket, custom hand built aluminum front core support and aluminum fan shroud that hold the radiator, hand-built stainless steel radiator hoses, custom spark plug wire brackets, 8mm high performance silicone 90 spark plug wires, custom built headers, custom exhaust pipes with thrush turbo mufflers with dual exhaust, high performance fuel pump, high performance oil pump, oil cooler, front and rear differential custom finned covers and many other components as you can see in the photos. Take the time to look at the details of the undercarriage and engine compartment in the photos. Unbelievable. The engine is mated to a Ford Cast Iron top load 4-speed manual transmission, and according to our technician, nothing stronger exists, bullet proof. A short throw shifter and an extremely heavy duty clutch makes sure all the power gets transferred properly. The transfer case is a model 20 spicer case from Jeep. An advance adaptor was used to mount the transfer case independant of the transmission so they're not married together. Moving on to the front of the truck, mounted to the custom chrome front bumper is a very cool Koenig Power Take Off winch (PTO) run by a Ramsey PTO driveshaft custom built. Very nice assembly overall. The body started life as a completely rust free 64 Ranchero. Stripped to bear metal, every small imperfection was corrected, the body was blocked and primered, and painted in a PPG solid Black. The body panels are absolutely perfect, laser straight. The doors open and close perfectly with better than original body fit. The bed of the truck is covered in a really cool diamond plated custom fitted and welded and fits perfect. Tailgate opens perfectly flat and shuts with authority. Every bit of chrome on this truck was redone and all stainless was polished. They all look perfect. The wheels are 15" Alloys with new Armstrong 11-15LT Tru-Trac Tires all around. The front locking hubs are Selectro Heavy Duty Hubs. The front grill looks like it's new, headlights are perfect and crack free, tail-lights are also perfect and every exterior light works. The vehicle is outfitted with dual side view mirrors. Moving onto the interior. The entire interior is brand new. Door panels are wrapped in a stone grey vinyl that's absolutely gorgeous, all the handles are either new or rechromed. The door sills are completely flawless. The factory bench seat was removed and brand new bucket seats with custom upholstered two tone black vinyl, grey cloth material. The entire instrument cluster pod was hand built and machined out of aluminum to mount the Stewart Warner period correct gauges. The PTO handle is mounted right under the temp controls. An old school Midland 79-892 CB radio is also mounted under the dash. The vehicle comes equipped with an AM/FM Cassette deck as well. with MTX Subwoofers installed behind the seats. The headliner is also brand new. The shifter is a Hurst 4-speed close ratio. Keep in mind, since the restoration, the vehicle has only seen 2287 miles, so it's virtually brand new. Moving on to the front of the truck, mounted to the custom chrome front bumper is a very cool Koenig Power Take Off winch (PTO) run by a Ramsey PTO driveshaft custom built. Very nice assembly overall.
The body started life as a completely rust free 64 Ranchero. Stripped to bear metal, every small imperfection was corrected, the body was blocked and primered, and painted in a PPG solid Black. The body panels are absolutely perfect, laser straight. The doors open and close perfectly with better than original body fit. The bed of the truck is covered in a really cool diamond plated custom fitted and welded and fits perfect. Tailgate opens perfectly flat and shuts with authority. Every bit of chrome on this truck was redone and all stainless was polished. They all look perfect. The wheels are 15" Alloys with new Armstrong 11-15LT Tru-Trac Tires all around. The front locking hubs are Selectro Heavy Duty Hubs. The front grill looks like it's new, headlights are perfect and crack free, tail-lights are also perfect and every exterior light works. The vehicle is outfitted with dual side view mirrors.
Moving onto the interior. The entire interior is brand new. Door panels are wrapped in a stone grey vinyl that's absolutely gorgeous, all the handles are either new or rechromed. The door sills are completely flawless. The factory bench seat was removed and brand new bucket seats with custom upholstered two tone black vinyl, grey cloth material. The entire instrument cluster pod was hand built and machined out of aluminum to mount the Stewart Warner period correct gauges. The PTO handle is mounted right under the temp controls. An old school Midland 79-892 CB radio is also mounted under the dash. The vehicle comes equipped with an AM/FM Cassette deck as well. with MTX Subwoofers installed behind the seats. The headliner is also brand new. The shifter is a Hurst 4-speed close ratio.
Keep in mind, since the restoration, the vehicle has only seen 2287 miles, so it's virtually brand new. We could go on and on about everything that's been done to this vehicle. Take the time to look at all the photos and see the attention to detail. Mechanically and aesthetically, there is none more pleasing than this custom truck.
