Here is an electric car made be Solectria using a 1996 Geo Metro chassis. Purchased about two years ago from the state of New Jersey department of motor vehicles. They purchased many of them from the Solectria Company. I intend to purchase a Chevy Volt soon. I replaced the gel cell batteries shortly after the purchase. Installed were 13 Crown Battery Co. 12CE 100 batteries. The car is used weekly. I just replaced two weak batteries with a Duracell 31 AGM. Electro Battery Co. where I purchased the Crown batteries, no longer carries them and I can not find them locally. Not impressed with the Crown batteries so far. I can run about 20 - 25 miles before needing to recharge. The car has an onboard charger that plugs into a standard 120 volt outlet or it can charge using 220 volts. The car is solid and drives well, not needing any mechanical repairs. It does have a few minor items needing repair. The headliner is falling down, the drivers door window crank does not work and the interior hood release cable is broken. Also the dashboard ampmeter never did work. It has a kerosene heater that I never used and needs a small plastic supply line. It has some dings and a minor dent, nothing serious. It comes with a spare tire, jack and two charging power cords.
