Vehicle Detail
Price is $5,900 CASH - the only vehicle I would consider trading for would be a 4x4 Suburban 1968-1972 in very good condition - with everything working properly. I bought this car 19 years ago, and it has been my daily driver every summer. It runs great, and is a joy to drive. It goes down the road very smooth. I have driven this car on several road trips which ranged between 3,000 - 5,000 miles each. I never had a mechanical problem during all those trips. For those of you not familiar with extensive driving of old American made cars -- they are very reliable. (the rest of the year for the past 21 years, I have driven a 1966 Grand Prix to work every day) In 1963 there were only 2367 Catalina convertibles built. Original color was Cameo Ivory. The car has a 2 barrel 1967 Pontiac 400 engine, and a 1967 turbo 400 transmission. This is the drive train when I bought the car 19 years ago. They are not original, but work great in this car. Also, the car came with power steering and power brakes that work great. The dash board is in good condition, no cracks or splits. The steering wheel is the cool clear 'resin', and has no cracks. Tires have plenty of tread left on them. Drive this car home !The floor boards and trunk only have surface rust. See the photos for review. The frame is solid. Most of the body is in good shape. See photos of the few small areas that have rusted more heavily, and some very minor dents. The paint job is second rate -- I would call it utilitarian. Any closer than 40 feet and in good lighting, you will start seeing issues with the paint job. Examine photos.Everything works on the car except the power top. I think it is just the motor. I had the 2 lift cylinders and motor replaced some years ago. The top frame folds up properly by hand. I removed the top this summer, because it was tattered. This car needs nothing to drive it -- unless it rains -- then you need a new top. If I was not 48 years old with a 8month old baby, and a 4 year old I would not be selling this car -- it is a joy to drive, but needs some cosmetic TLC and a new top and I just don't have time. (and my wife will finally be able to park in the driveway!)
