About a month ago this vehicle broke down. We had a mechanic look at it and the diagnosis was that none of the cylinders had compression. This would most likely be one of two things: the piston rings are all blown OR the timing chain jumped a gear. I would think the odds of all four rings going bad at the same time would be slim. However, the timing chain was replaced about two years ago. I checked the tension of the chain, which seemed tight so I am not sure how it could have jumped a gear. Whatever the problem is, there is no compression and THE ENGINE DOES NOT RUN! If it matters, there are a few oil leaks around the rear of the engine. The manual transmission is functioning and I know of no problems with it. New wheel bearings and tie rods were installed about a month before it broke down. The tires are in good condition and the body is in good condition with a little rust in the front of the door frames and a spot underneath the car. There are scratches, a few dings and small dents, and paint fading over the body, but other than the few small rust holes it is structurally sound. The vehicle has been in two accidents that I know of. Another vehicle scraped the passenger fender leaving a couple of small dents and scratches. The second, another vehicle backed into the trunk and dented it. The damaged parts were replaced. However, there is a slight difference in tint/shine of the two headlights and front fenders so I am not sure if they had been replaced before I owned this vehicle. The interior condition is good except for dry rot on the sun visor above the driver seat. There are also a few light spots on the seats and one of the floor mats looks like bleach had been spilled on it. There was a leak in the base of the windshield on the passenger side that has stained the carpet next to the center console. The radio and tape deck work, but the display is not able to be read. Also, the ashtray is missing. When I first got this car it was maintaining 46mpg on the highway. In later years it dropped to around 40mpg. With that said, a replacement engine may or may not get the same fuel economy. I enjoyed this car greatly, but due to the repairs needed it is time to sell it. However, the engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced and I do not have the time to do that extensive repairs. Please examine all the pictures as they will show the scratches, rust, and dings. If further pictures are needed I can post/email them. I will answer all questions to the best of my ability. I advise a viewing of the is vehicle before bidding if at all possible! Car is sold AS IS! Just to add, once the payment for the vehicle is made, it belongs to the buyer who will assume all responsibility for any taxes and fees to transfer title, transportation, repairs, and any other requirements that may arise. I will travel up to 20 miles from zip code 40741 to meet the buyer, who will then be responsible for transferring from a trailer to whatever other means of transportation from that point. This vehicle is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early if a higher offer is made locally before the auction ends.
