Selling A Fun Classic BeetleI have been a classic car enthusiast for 9 years buying mostly Porsches Mercedes and BMW’s because in my opinion, nothing compares to German engineering. I used to own a dealership and have also helped several international buyers locate, purchase, and export these beautiful cars back to their place of origin for private collection therefore I accept and welcome bidders from around the world. Some vehicles I sell are my personal cars, some are ones that I am listing on behalf of others, but I always drive the cars and describe them to the best of my ability. Prior to bidding on any of my vehicles, please make sure to ask any questions as your bid is a binding contract stating that you accept the car in AS IS condition. All sales are final- I simply will not put up with anyone who is just shopping or wasting time. YOU MUST HAVE FUNDS READY TO MAKE FULL PAYMENT WITHIN 7 DAYS PER AUCTION TERMS IN ORDER TO BID. I know that most ebayers and classic car collectors are stand-up people but there are a few out there who simply should not be buying cars online. I do my best to describe the cars as they are in my opinion but in order to make sure that the cars are up to your standards it is your responsibility to inspect the car in person or have your assigned agent inspect the car, otherwise you are buying the car based on my opinion only- I am not a certified car inspector or mechanic- just an enthusiast that has been around a lot of classic cars so when you bid on my car you are indicating that you are satisfied with its condition and take responsibility for your decision to bid. That disclaimer being stated, here is the description I offer for this particular car: The high bidder will become the new owner of this 1968 VW Beetle. This car is a very clean and solid driver with a stock VW motor that has a freshly rebuilt Solex carbeurator system, redone shocks, redone exhaust (dual tip), newer tires, and a stock 4 speed tranny. The interior is also very clean with all seats in great condition, a clean headliner, no cracks in the dash, and what looks to be an era correct radio. Overall the car looks great and gets tons of attention from anyone who sees it.I did ZERO restoration to the car- how you see it is EXACTLY how it looked when I picked it up. The previous owner did the mechanical restoration and looks to have reprayed the car with a decent paint job that shines up nicely. I don't see any rust in the panels or under the car.My assessment is that this car should be looked at as a fun little weekend driver or commuter. I drove it over 100 miles and it ran great. It recently passed Utah safety and emissions inspections and has current tags. I believe that value is determined by what people are willing to pay for a car which is why I list cars at NO RESERVE. As mentioned this car will start right up and run for you but below you will find additional photos and descrptions as I see the car. Most people would just say “great condition” and not give all the details but I try to include everything, good and bad. This description is my opinion of the car based on my experience with classic Porsches. Ultimately it is the buyer's responsibility to determine the condition of any car for themself. Cosmetically this car looks good going down the road. Overall the body and finish are in above average condition. As you can see in the pictures the interior is very clean. The windshield is in great shape, no cracks. The paint is not show quality but it cleans/shines up well. The wheels themselves have a little surface oxidiation but could be refinished for a great look.Mechanically as mentioned the motor starts right up and pulls strong. The tranny shifts fine minor synchro chirps here and there as is typical with these cars. The car drives and handles ok on the road and the brakes seem fine but keep in mind that there is no power steering and these old beetles are not the smoothest ride, nor the most comfortable but they are a lot of fun. The ODO reading is ticking at over 29K miles but who knows if it has turned over since it only has read out for 5 digits so it is being sold as mileage exempt based on age and lack of documentation to prove actual mileage. In summary, this is a fun little toy car that should provide the new owner with an outlet of sorts or gather lots of attention. Feel free to ask questions prior to bidding. I can provide a reference for arranging very affordable transportation for this car to any state or port in the USA. TERMS:A NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT VIA PAYPAL OF $700 DUE WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTION’S ENDFULL PAYMENT OR PROOF OF WIRE TRANSFER IS DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTION’S ENDSALE IS FINAL- NO RETURNS OR DISCOUNTS- SOLD AS IS
