Vehicle Detail

1970 Ford Torino GT Convertible with a 351C 2V, C4 automatic transmission, PS, PB power top and air conditioning. The car is a great driver and especially nice for cruising with the top down. This car would also be an excellent candidate for a high point restoration. The engine starts easily, runs strong and does not smoke. It has been modified with an Eidlebrock 4-barrel intake intake, a Holley 4-barrel carb and new ceramic coated Hooker headers and aluminized exhaust. I do not have any information about the cam/lifters or other internal engine components. The car has a new battery, new wiring harness, new fuse block and Sylvania Halogen headlights. The previous owner completely rebuilt the front suspension and replaced the rear leaf springs. The car has Weld Racing Pro Star chrome wheels and like new Goodrich Radial TA's. The body is in good overall condition. Body panels are solid and straight and have good gaps. There are some repair panels riveted into the truck floor (see pictures) and the bottom edges of the rear inner fenders have some minor corrosion. The paint has some large scratches that have been covered with touchup paint and the clear coat has flaked off in several areas. The original paint appears to have been medium blue. The chrome and stainless trim is in very good overall condition, except for a small area on the rear bumper left end that has some scratches (see pictures). I have new chrome door handles to replace the pitted originals. All glass is in very good condition. The windshield was replaced just prior to my purchasing the car. The black vinyl interior is in good condition; including the seats, door panels and other trim around the back seat/convertible top. The carpet is in very good condition. There is some pitting on the surface of the interior "chrome" handles. The car has a nice Sunpro tachometer along with Sunpro water temperature and oil pressure gauges. The power top works perfectly and has had new cylinders and hydraulic lines installed. The top itself is in generally good condition except for a tear on the driver side that could be repaired. The top also has a custom tonneau cover. I have a clear Colorado title for the car. A deposit of $1,000.00 is due via PayPal within 24 hours of the auction end. The balance of the funds due may be paid by wire transfer, Cashier's check or in person with cash within 7 days of the auction end - NO EXCEPTIONS. Thanks for looking. On Sep-04-12 at 16:49:29 PDT, seller added the following information:I found that 2 of the the BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires on the car had slipped belts, so the car will be equipped with 4 NEW BF Radial T/A Tires. I have over 100 receipts provided by the previous owner. They have provided additional parts and service information. Some of the major work performed on this car: new Summit Racing TCI-511600 C-4 Streetfighter Transmission and Performance Torque Converter installed in 2003; Vintage Air Conditioning System installed 2000; new ball joints, spring insulators, coil springs, rear springs, shackles, etc. installed 2007; new engine mount replaced 2008; new Radiator installed 2000; Igniter V-8 Electronic Ignition installed 2000; new Ron Francis Wiring Harness, other electrical installed 2005; Hooker Jet-Hot coated headers and aluminized dual exhaust system installed 2006; Holley 0-80457S carburetor installed 2001; stereo radio is a Clarion RDB AM/FM/CD. I have posted more pictues on Photobucket that show more of the bad paint spots (bubbles, flaked clear coat) as well as the underside of the car (corroded inner fender panels). I also have an original Owner's Manual for the car in good condition. Finally, the closeup picture of the Sunpro gauge cluster shows the oil pressure gauge when it was disconnected. The car runs with oil pressure readings of 60 psi when cold, 40 psi at highway speeds, and about 8-10 psi at hot idle according to the oil pressure gauge. On Sep-04-12 at 16:51:33 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional pictures at: http://s843.photobucket.com/albums/zz360/steveprt/1970%20Ford%20Torino/
