Vehicle Detail
1949 Dodge B-1-B "Pilothouse" 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck! Restored approximately 10 years ago. 218 C.I. REBUILT and recently tuned Flathead 6 cylinder engine runs like a sewing machine, 3 spd manual gearbox transitions flawlessly. Mechanically sound drives and rides like a low mileage 1940's pickup would have driven. You can drive this truck home no matter where you live. All gauges workOriginal umodified 6-volt systemNew WWW TiresSuspension super strong, truck sets and drives as it shouldManual SteeringManual BrakesFront End tightExhaust purrsRear End - Swapped with a newer Dodge Dakota. This truck was geared so low that highway driving was impractical. I kept the original which comes with the Truck. All sorts of extra parts, starter, generator, spotlight, Fenton Visor (COMPLETE and unpainted) as shown.Glass is perfectWipers workPeriod aftermarket turn signal Painted in Centauri DARK JADE GREEN with clear coat. This is a 10 year-old paint job. Excellent for a driver, but not ready for MECUM. There are a couple of MINOR scratches, in addition to the 3 areas (Left Rear Fender - some bubbling starting to appear); (Tail Gate - silver dollar sized rust spot); (Right Front Fender - paint cracked along seam). I'm obsessive compulsive and somedays I look at the truck and want to repaint the whole thing, other days I plan to fix the areas mentioned. The color is great, the work remains very good: BUT IT IS NOT SHOW QUALITY PERFECT! The Interior is redone using materials close to the original. The door panels, seat covers, and headliner were replaced/redone at the time of restoration. The Oak Wood Bed is solid. Still looks great, with MINOR age. An easy refinish for the perfectionist. Chasis, floors, underneath - no rust/rot, clean and an easy detail if that's the way you want to go. I have too much stuff and winter is coming with no room to store my truck. If it doesn't sell, its off to the self-storage units til spring. While I really don't need any more cars, boats, motorcycles, I could be tempted to work out a trade on a 1940's 2 door Buick Sedan. E-Mail me with questions. Truck is located in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
