Vehicle Detail

I just took this 911 in trade on a 84 Carrera. It has been owned by 2 brothers since 1974. Service records come with the car that go back almost to that date. Odometer reads 0777. It has been around so I believe the mileage to be 107777 at least. Previous owner was not sure. Service records indicate that would make sence, but there are some that are either misprints, or the car has had a speedo change at some point. Let me just say that exact mileage is unknown. The car is solid, but the previous replacement for the floor pan was not done to the highest standard. The welding is solid, bu not pretty. There is a body shop reciept from the 90's indicating the floors and rockers were replaced, along with a door skin. The paint is respectable, but not super. Very few dings in the body. Pics show a couple spots where rust is starting to blister through. This is a solid driver that you can buy, drive and not have to pour money into. The engine is the best parts of the car. Records indicate that it was rebuilt in 1987. For $7500. It got new bearings, piston cylinder kit, valve job, weber carbs to replace the original Zeniths, and hydraulic chain tensioners. At a later date it got neww SSI heater boxes. The engine runs beautifully. It starts right up with any coughing, spitting or backfiring. Super smooth running hot or cold, and it doesn't smoke. The interior is respectable with a new headliner, and sunvisors. Carpeting is aftermarket. The dash has a coverlay over it to hide the cracking. I've driven the car for about 30 miles and it goes great. No drivability issues. Suspension feels good, and no squeeks or rattles. The wheels were refinished by Al Reed and the tires are new Yokahamas. I just remembered that the rear tin backing plates for the rear brakes are rusted, but I'll supply another set if the new owner wants them. Transmission shifts fine with no syncro issues. Clutch package has also been replaced not many miles ago. In closing, there at no signs this car has ever been in a crash. Check my rating, 100% after twelve years. I have described the car honestly. On Sep-03-12 at 07:06:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Car has matching numbers engine original to the car. Original color is tangerine, (orange), it has NOT been changed. Car is sold on a bill of sale with the previous owners current registration. Our state does not title cars over 15 years old. Other state's DMV know this.
