Vehicle Detail

LOW RESERVE This is a super rare super cool 1964 GMC Alaskan 3/4 Ton Pickup Truck. This is the first year the truck had a V-6 rather than a stovebolt and as such this is still often referred to as a stovebolt. There are less than 10,000 miles on the rebuilt engine and less than 3000 miles on all other upgrades. I drive it just for fun and to carry stuff once in a while. It has been babied. This would be a super reliable daily driver or someone with some skills could turn it into a show car without much investment. I've done most of the important stuff - mostly cosmetic stuff remains. I have roughly 20k invested in this vehicle though you wouldn't necessarily know it by looking at it. It has fairly new brakes all around, an upgraded rear differential, cold a/c (almost too cold), a hidden sony stereo and a kill switch. The model is so rare that the alaskan badge was stolen from the rear. Gas tank was moved from inside the cab to underneath the bed. The paint is pretty and in adequate condition. If you drive this truck every week it will start on the first try every time. Less and it will start on the third try. If you take care with fluids you can put it away for a season and it will start the moment you get it lubed up. It has never broken down on me. This truck sounds amazing! What's the catch? No catch. Great truck but it is definitely from 1964. The paint is not original and the paint job was done by a less than stellar shop. Leave it for daily driving but it would need a new paint job for shows. Interior is half finished. Doors are painted and the vinyl is new and in great shape. There is no headliner or carpet. The gauges and bezel are cheap plastic. The bed is real oak but definitely could stand to be refinished and the steel bedstrips should be painted, chromed or replaced for show. (Just fine if this is a work truck.) Again, this is the very rare 3/4 Ton. Would make a great big strong cool and reliable work truck. Why are you selling? Same reason as most. I have two kids, 5 cars and no garage (it's a kid's bedroom now.) I have just finished restoring a camaro and that is getting all the driving love at the moment and I would like to reduce my vehicle quantity. There is a reserve on this auction but it is low. Seller reserves the right to cancel auction if vehicle is sold locally.
