Vehicle Detail
"Vehicle Description This 1970 340 MATCHING NUMBERS CUDA’ is quite an attention getter and is so sweet. The TOR RED paint and the thoroughness of its application is absolutely first rate. It was a full rotisserie refinish job, I’ve got the pictures to show the work. The car was absolutely done right. The ¼’s were both replaced along with the base panel on the rear deck below the back window – and were done extremely well. The entire bottom was cleaned, sanded, prepped etc prior to refinish. The bottom of the car is very nice and well detailed. We’re talking no rust – anywhere. The prep work prior to paint was outstanding, resulting finish. It literally looks showroom. I’ve never run this car at the dragstrip, nor have I ever shown it, but feel and have been told repeatedly it would do well at both. At 44 years of age and still a kid at heart, I just get a big kick in driving it up and down mainstreet a few times or once around the park in our small town. I’ve put about 500 miles on it since I’ve done up the engine and finished out the detailing. If I keep talking, I might talk myself out of selling, so here goes: Vehicle Condition The engine compartment and trunk inner detailing is just superb. It’s a shame the pictures don’t do justice it deserves. I’ve spent the time since acquisition just carrying on what was a very good start. I’ve taken the interior completely out and restored it to a like new condition. The dashpad and radio grille is completely perfect, and I’ve replaced the door trim panels, the ¼ trim panels, the carpeting, the package tray trim panel, added a pristine center console, refurbished the shift handle including wooden grips. I took the gauges completely apart then cleaned, refaced, and refinished all of them. They’re absolutely gorgeous. The clock was converted to a quartz movement. The gauge lens is flawless. All woodgrain was replaced. The roof console and dome are in immaculate condition. The upholstery is great and all new screws were used in most trim replacement when I did it. The seatbelts are choice. I also put an entire new lockset in the car, so all locks and keys, door handles, etc work like they should. I also added a glovebox keylock, console keylock and glovebox lighting and map light assembly. The rimblow is perfect. I added the new road lamps with yellow bulbs, I’ll give you the clears ones too if want them. The am/fm radio is completely functional – as a matter of fact everything works- nothing left untouched in this restore. The brakes, brake lines, brake hardware, brake cables, the tires, wheels and wheel trim, shocks, steering links, bushings, exhaust, wipers/washers, master cylinder, radiator, htr core all are just like new. So let’s talk powerplant. Okay I admit I ruined the “original oem” feel for the engine compartment for you purists, but I’ve also got most of the original stuff you’d need to put it back in if that’s your desire, price to be negotiated with buyer. This is a “numbers matching” engine/transmission in this car. So you already know it’s the forged crank and 10.5’s. I wanted it to be something to talk about so… Milodon 10 qt pan, Milodon pickup, Blueprinted Precision Oil Pump and ARP studs and hardened drive gear, Milodon gear drive, Comp cams camshafts, lifters, pushrods, and adjustable magnum roller rockers all working with Edelbrock 6017 aluminum heads and matching performer intake. (Edelbrock’s websight reports this combo produces over 413 H.P.!) It’s fed by a Holley Avenger 670cfm jetted with 68’s and matching electric fuel pump. Mopar performance supplied the valve covers, optional matching finned air cleaner, high torque mini-starter, high output waterpump, and orange box electronic ignition and wires. The alternator is a 100amp wind and powdercoated to match the block. Hedman ceramic coated headers with ARP bolts and aluminum pulleys with a performance liquid filled chromed balancer help finish out this project. I also used primarily stainless bolts on everything not ARP concerning the engine. I’ve set the total advance about 38’ and have no preignition or spark knock on pump gas. With a 391 rear end, this car has unbelievable torque in the 1800-5500 rpm range. I can be having a bad day and get behind the wheel of this car and be happy again by 4th gear. With a nice rumpety-rump idle of about 1300 rpm’s and the singe of gear drive, it just sounds like good old rock and roll music. No oil consumption, no smoking, no leaking, no kidding! Terms of Sale I have HUGE investment here, It’s everything I say it is. You’d certainly be proud to own it. I know what I’ve put into it since I’ve owned it. I’m positive I’m asking less than my investment. The odometer reads 39690 at this time. Although I’ve never researched the miles, I believe them to be original. Nothing in this car tells me anything different. I’ve always researched the miles, I believe them to be original. Nothing on this car tells me anything different. I’ve always been so happy with the car, I never felt the need to check it out. I also have the orginial Buyer’s order in pristine condition from the selling dealer when the car was first ordered and sold, plus some other original documents and owner’s guides. You obviously should understand that I cannot make any warranty on this car. But I feel quite confident I wouldn’t need to anyway. You need to be a serious buyer because I’m a serious seller. I’ll expect a $5,000 non-refundable deposit within 5 business days from close of auction. Balance within 14 days from close of auction. The car will remain safe and insured with me until fully paid for and picked up. I’ll be happy to take you for a nice test drive to confirm it’s a good deal before you pay for or take the car. Arranging pickup or delivery will be your responsibility. I live 40 minutes west of St. Louis in St Charles county about 4 miles from Interstate 70. The car is much too sweet to drive long distance highway and get chipped up, so I'd recommend a hauler if you're the buyer. I've got a clear title, you'll need cash or a certified cashier's check to make the deal. No returns, no backouts, no bad deals, no notes from your mom. Check my feedback, you'll see I'm straight up. If you make the deposit, but do not finish the deal in 30 days, the deposit is mine to keep and the car goes back up for sale on day 31... no exceptions, no kidding. I can be emailed at....... if you need more information" ***I bought this car on the above description nine year ago. I have put less than 1000 miles on the car. What the seller didn't say was the car was popping out of second gear, regularly. I just got the transmission back from Passon's Mopar Performance Transmissions for a rebuild ($1,200). He corrected all things wrong (I will supply the invoice). Otherwise, this car is all he said and even more. I also bought the original engine stuff ($1,200). I feel these items need to stay with the car, regardless of selling price. They include the intake manifold, heads, rocker arms and shafts, lifters, harmonic balancer, water pump and pulley, crank pulley, oil pan, fuel pump, and pie pan. All are in excellent condition. This car has not deteriorated at all. I have driven it just enough to keep fresh gas in it and everything circulating. The car also has its original dealer sales invoice. The numbers on the engine are 2780930-340-2. I also have the barracuda emblem that's supposed to be on the horn pad of all rimblow steering wheels but just haven't put it on. I live in Tazewell, Virginia (Southwest Virginia) if anyone would like to view the car or take a test ride. I’ve got a clear title, you’ll need cash or a certified cashier’s check to make the deal. The car is also available for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction. I can be emailed at redncuda@hotmail.com or can take phone calls at 276-988-2915 or 276-245-5006 between 8:00-4:00pm eastern standard time if you need more information.*I also will include a can of matching paint On Aug-27-12 at 12:06:50 PDT, seller added the following information: "Vehicle DescriptionThis 1970 340 MATCHING NUMBERS CUDA’ is quite an attention getter and is so sweet.
