Vehicle Detail

This auction is for my very rare optioned (and lack of options) '55 Ford Tudor Business Sedan. The car spent it's 1st fifty-five plus years in southern Nebraska until I bought it a little more than 1 year ago. It shows 62, 200 miles. I believe these to be correct & original but can't prove it other than the condition the car is in. It still wearing it's factory original Banner blue paint. It has 3-4 very small dents and some superficial nicks & scrapes, but such a nice over-all original patina that I would never dream of painting it. Still, paint is dull with very little shine. There is no rust other than a 3" round area on the lower-rear area of the passenger front fender. The chrome is still very nice to excellent. The chrome hood rocket looks new as does the grill! The bumper chrome is thinning but still shiny and also speaks to the low mileage. It's just as nice underneath. The original splash pans under the engine are still present and not all rusty or missing as most of them are(they are off in the pics to show the bottom of the engine). The muffler has been replaced. Brakes have been completely rebuilt and all (3) new brake hoses installed. The gas tank, straps & fuel tank sender are new. The tires are Goodyear bias-ply blackwalls with less than 500 miles. This car came from the factory with the rare (only 402 total) 1st year Air-Conditioning. The A/C works as it should and blows cold! This is a very rare option to have and have in working order, especially on such a plain-jane entry level car with few other options. It never had a radio, antenna, reverse lights or clock. Other than this rare A/C option, it's a 272 Y-block with Fordomatic transmission-1st year offered also! The car also came as I guess Business Sedans came with no back seat, just a division panel where the seat back would be and a stamped steel 3' X 5' deck where the back seat bottom would be and stationary back-side windows. It also came with black rubber floor matting which was mostly missing & disintegrated. I replaced the rear cargo deck area with black rubber mat close to original. The rest of the floor area I did with gray cut-pile carpet. The floorboards still have shiny Banner blue paint on them as does the trunk. The front bench seat still wears it's 58 year old covering and is near perfect thanks to a clear plastic seat cover that was yellowed & cracking which I took off & discarded. The headliner & dash are original also. The dash looks perfect and the headliner is very good although showing some of it's years with a little dis-coloration. Even the original door panels are nice & clean with some slight scuffs here and there, mostly on the lower areas. The engine bay is very original. The engine still wears it's original paint. Even the water pump I believe is the original one. I did re-paint the breather and put new decals on it and the valve covers(original black paint still on the valve covers too). It is still 6-volt of course and I installed a new original type Ford Power Punch battery. It runs, sounds & drives great & cranks/starts fast for 6-Volt. I believe the suspension is all original too except for shocks at some time. It could probably use ball joints & idler arm replaced although it does not pull to either side but does wander and have some play in the steering. Control arm bushings look good! Everything works and works correctly; Heater, defoster, cold A/C, gas guage, temp. guage, oil & gen.warning lights, speedo, all lighting, turn signals & windshield wipers & washers! The glass is all original and very nice except for (2) rock/BB type marks smaller than a dime on the front windshield. The original owners manual is included (not re-print) and also original Selectaire A/C manual (not re-print). Also 2 sets of original keys and dealer promo trouble light(adapted for direct battery hook-up due to no cigar lighter). This car is availabe for inspection most any day. Any questions or concerns please email or call Paul @ (502) 552-0220-Thanks!On Aug-22-12 at 08:52:11 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry-I am wrong about this being the 1st year for the Fordomatic. It sounds like the Fordomatic was born in 1951-Thanks!
