For sale is an ultra rare left hand drive Austin Ten Cambridge Saloon with just 53,617 miles on the odometer. It is believed to be one of just 2 LHD Cambridge Saloons in the USA. Features of the Austin Ten Cambridge: "In the new range of cars from July 1936 the Ten was completely redesigned with a new chassis and body to provide more accommodation, increased performance, and better brakes, in a bigger looking more modern shape. Austin had 1000 Cambridge cars at the dealers in anticipation of the demand." Streamline body featuring "six light" design (3 windows per side) Girling rod brakes Split rear window Easiclean steel wheels fitted with 5.25 x 16 tyres Headlights mounted on radiator cowl Bonnet side ventilation - 2 hatches on each side Twin rear D lights in place of single round "pork pie" rear light. The boot now had space for luggage as well as the spare wheel and as on the previous models could be folded down to provide a platform for more luggage. The vehicle has been off the road for years but is in running and driving condition. Features include working Girling brakes, original 1125cc side valve Austin engine, 4-speed transmission, semaphore trafficators, and a period pipe/ cigar smokers hatch! Provisions for a rear curtain remain but the fabric is long gone. It is as rust free and as original as you will likely find! The entire car oozes patina and is as cute as a button. This little Austin is comfortable and fun to drive! And yes! It will get you more attention than any Ferrari at a traffic light!
