Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is 1968 Mustang that has some really nice factory options such as power steering, air conditioning, and automatic. This stang will require a full restoration but she would definitely be worth the time and effort this is 97% complete car. There is a starter, drive shaft, matching chrome rims (for the front), and a antenna not pictured that come with the car. The wheels are 14 inch by 8 inch they are in pretty fair condition but I would suggest to have them re-chromed or powder coated. The rear tires have deep tread but have age cracks and I would recommend replacing them. As you can see by the pictures this car is very unique in the fact the floors has never been replaced. The driver and passenger front floor pans will have to be replaced the driver and passenger rear floor pans are in pretty good shape. The pics show how good the front and rear frame rails are and how good the condition of the rest of the under carriage. The trunk area has a three inch gouge by the right rear shock mount but it can be easily repaired. On the right side of the gas tank there is an area that will have to be patched. The quarters appear to have never been repaired and are as the pictures show in pretty good shape. The driver's door is not original to the car however, it is in very good condition and the window mechanism will require refurbishment to operate properly. The passenger door I believe is original to the car it does have an area on the lower front portion of the door that will have to be repaired and the window mechanism will require refurbishment to operate properly. The hood will have to be replaced but the blinker inserts appear to be useable. The decklid I believe can be saved but that is a judgement call. The fenders are useable the driver's headlight extention does have some damage but can be used. The driver's side trim will have to replaced and it is missing the center trim piece. There are no hood hinges and the area where the hood hinges attach will have to repaired. All glass is present and in pretty good condition unfortunately there one piece of trim that is missing from the driver's side other then that all is good. There is one picture of the roof that shows a dent right above the driver's door it will have to be addressed but other than that the roof is in pretty decent condition. Strangely enought the bumpers are in pretty decent shape and I feel good enough for daily driver status once cleaned properly. You may have noticed that the right side header looks newer than the left side that's because the previous owner cut the old one off so I replaced the header. This car does have dual exhaust the pipe and mufflers are in pretty good shape. The engine has a code of C8AE-6015-B according to the internet it is a 302 block with 289 internals. I tried to include a link to a website that has an article explaining the code but ebay would allow this so if you would the URL let me know and I will give it to you. There is a possibility the engine may be original to the car but you would have to verify this through a costly Marti Report. The engine does turn over of course it will need a rebuild. The transmission is a C4 and it too will require a rebuild. The A/C compressor is not present however the mounting brackets are there but I am not sure if this year model had an idler pulley. The harmonic balancer pulley and power steering pulley will need to be replaced the water pump pulley can be refurbished. The engine does have a rebuildable 4 barrel Holley carburetor and a aluminum intake manifold that are accented with some really cool Edelbrock high rise valve covers. The radiator is a two core type I believe it can be rebuilt. The seats and console appear to be from a 74 model Mustang they actually look pretty cool. The headliner is perfect with the exception of the two 5 inch diameter holes on the left and right side rear, it looks like someone wanted to put speakers at those locations. The wiring is present with the exception of the neutral safety switch and wiring to the positive side of the coil , water temp sensor, and oil pressure sensor, of course it will have to be gone through. There is no linkage from the shifter to the transmission, no front lower valance, and turn signal assemblies for the front valance. There are areas the pictures show that will require attention if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact via ebay. There is no title with the sale of this car I will give a bill of sale only. I will store the car for 30 days from end of auction if necessary.
