1949 Ford Mercury 8, 2 Door Merc Project w/ Extras 49’ Lead Sled, Hot Rod, Low Rider, Custom Project If you are a true car lover then you know 49 Mercs were, and still are, the King of the Road! This one has been passed around southwest New Mexico for a few generations and is very solid. The body is resting on a 69’ Pontiac Lemans-GTO frame - wheel base is 116" and the merc is 118" - so this frame will need to be extended, but it's secured to body. Hood and front clip were removed and are not a greasy mess. This car was cleaned and has been sitting awhile. One previous owner tack welded the doors shut preparing for a chop top. After that a previous owner cut the welds so the car comes with a box of all new side and front windows at stock window height. All windows are new except for the original rear window; original rear window is included. New front and rear window rubber included. There is some rust in the trunk area and rocker panels, but I’m including new rocker panel replacements as part of the deal. Note: No wiring, no motor or transmission! No ornaments or side trim included. The body is covered in self etching primer over the existing paint to protect it.
