I have had this Midget since 1984. This car turns heads and gets compliments every time I take it for a spin. I ended up restoring it as a hobby when I had other transportation and spent 10 years having a great time in the garage. I have replaced so many parts with new including: Weber 2BB Carb, Intake/Exhaust Manifold/Header, exhaust, Interior vinyl and carpet, seat cushions and vinyl, front and side window panes, chrome trim, and lights and blinkers, starter, radiator, gas tank, fuel pump, etc. I removed the heater core and did not replace it - it is unnecessary in Texas. I stripped the car starting in 1990 to its metal body and took the shell to a reputable body mechanic for paint. It was painted interior and exterior white with the trunk getting a special trunk-like gray. I took the motor to Duffin engine in San Antonio and they rebuilt it. I put it all back together in my garage in San Antonio, then took it to Ron Shimek Automotive in Austin and he got all the hydraulics in steering and brakes finished, exhaust pipe, trim work I couldn't get right, and got the vehicle road-ready. It runs great. It is inspected, insured, and has TX Classic car plates. The only thing to do is to install the new soft-top I have purchased. The current top has a hole above the driver's head. It would take an experienced person a full day to put on the top and get it right. The 90000 miles is an estimate. The engine was rebuilt and car restored when the odometer read approximately 84000. I am located in Austin, TX. Buyer is responsible for any inspections and will pick up the car in Austin. I will accept payment of cash or certified check on delivery.
