Vehicle Detail
Vehicle Background The sixth generation Honda Civic featured updated styling although less radical than previous redesigns. Suspension and engine options were available along with their first Natural Gas Powered Civic, the GX. In 1996–2000 they made the CX, DX, EX, SE (Canada only), EXR, HX, LX, and Si; all base models were made with 1.6L engines. The EX-CX are all SOHC (Honda D engine). The CX, DX, and LX all have D16y7 non-VTEC engines; whereas the EX has a D16y8 VTEC, and the HX has D16y5 VTEC-E. The Si came with a DOHC (B16A2 VTEC). The first civic SI coupe EM1 was introduced in 1999. Europe saw a DOHC 1.6 VTI hatch and sedan and a DOHC 1.8VTI engine was available for the Domani related five-door liftback and estate. 2000 Honda Civic DX Hatchback 3-Door....ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA OWNER! I'm selling this vehicle for my father in law who has loved this little civic for many years. He recently purchased a Toyota Tacoma and it's time to make some room in the garage. The civic has proven to be a reliable vehicle and has been used as a daily commuter. If you're familiar with Hondas you know that these cars are Japanese built, reliable as heck, super fuel efficient and timeless. He's kept a stack of business cards and notes left over the years on the windshield from people looking to purchase this rare little gem. It's getting harder and harder to find unmolested survivors of this era of Civics as most have been modified with aftermarket stereos, lowering kits, engine upgrades and body modificaitons. This one is bone stock down to the original am/fm facotry stereo and OEM hubcaps. Mechanically, the vehicle has been maintained with routine oil changes every 3,000 miles. The engine accelerates nicely in all gears and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly. This model was sold as base package as the vehicle has no A/C or power window option. This car is super fuel efficient and has an EPA listed fuel economy of 30 mpg. Civic owners know that these cars are capable of achieving upwards of 35-40 mpg. At just over 130k miles, the vehicle has been just over 10,000 miles per year which is well under typical mileage driven. The vehicle feels strong and is ready for many more years of service. The car's exterior factory silver finish is shiny and cleans up nicely. There are a few areas where the clear coat has begun to fade from direct sunlight as per the photographs in the ad. Overall, the vehicle makes for a decent daily driver or long distance commuter. Although the exterior is not in showroom condition, there are no signs of corrosion, major dents or holes in the body. The rear bumper has a few scuffs and can be easily touched up. The vehicle recently had a full exterior detail and factory plastic headlights have been restored to like new condition. Tires appear to have plenty of tread life remaining. The vehicle retains its factory cloth interior and original bucket seats which are very comfortable and fully adjustable. The rear jump jump seats and other body panels are intact and in good condition. The vehicle comes with factory heater and two built in cupholders between the two front seats. Terms of Sale The car is located in the Orange County area of sunny California accessible from both LAX and John Wayne Airports. Please email me with any questions using the question tab as part of the ad. In summary, the winning bidder to meet reserve at the end of the sale will own this rare vehicle. NOTE: the seller reserves the right to end the auction early as the vehicle is listed for sale elsewhere. The winning bidder pays for and arranges all shipping or pick up of the vehicle in Orange County, CA. NOTE: Do not bid on this vehicle unless you intend to own it.
