Vehicle Detail

Before I got married, I bought an old car and a motorcycle. 5 years later, the car needs to go. I'd like to park my daily car in the garage this winter! The motorcycle was the better idea of the two... I think the pictures will tell the story here. I bought it at a dealer, and drove it the 200 miles home. I bought it as I thought it would be an easy one to keep on the road as a driveable car. It can go 60 mph on the highway. It never got that much use, and I admit it was last used 5 years ago at our wedding when it drove us from the chapel to the reception. It's been sitting in the gargage ever since. It may take a little work to get it started. Before it was parked, the only issues were the gas gage didn't work, and the parking brake didn't work. It did burn a little oil, which possibly it did when new even? Not bad, but not like a new Honda. The interior is in great shape. The exterior is ok, but not mint. The chrome is 62 years old, and shows it. The paint also has lots of hairline cracks in it. But it's ok. No rust issues. I think this thing has been garaged a long, long time. The model was called the Carry All as the back seats fold down and fold flat. I tried to show this in the pictures. This apparently was a new thing in 1950. The pictures in my garage are as it currently sits and has sat. Some are from my wedding day. The grainy ones with a date are from when I first bought it. Also, if you have specific picture requests, I can handle that. I just added a few under the hood as someone requested it. I can also respond to emails asking for what ever pictures you'd like and email them to you. Update: Somone sent me this added info... "Desoto Carry-All's were made from late 1949 through 1952. Your 1950 Desoto Carry-All: wheelbase 125.5", weight 3,600 lbs., production #'s 3,900 for the year. Model is: S-14-1 Deluxe, Carry-All sedan 4door 5 passenger. Very unique." Again, totally feel free to run questions by me. Thanks, Jon Kibler 11 Green St. , Topsham , ME 04086 207-899-5400. Calls are cool, but please keep them between 9am and 3pm... On Jul-30-12 at 16:38:35 PDT, seller added the following information: I got a few questions about rust. I tried to post the pictures. One guy asked about rust right below the rear backup lights. Apparently this is common with these? This area looks great and I posted the photos he asked for. Also, I posted a picture of the driver side fender. This isn't deep rust, but it's there. I'd think it would be an easy fix, but should be worked on before it gets deeper. The floorboards are solid with no signs of rust. There is a little bit of rust underneith near the outside under where the door sills are. But this isn't a rust bucket. I think the paint is original. The top tan paint looks newer. Again, keep the questions coming.
