2001 BMW 540i Sport 6 Speed
This is a very nice E39 BMW 540i with almost all every available option. This car has the rare 6 speed manual transmission along with the Sport Package, Premium Package and Cold Weather Package. The options include heated leather seats, Homelink, DSC(Dynamic Stability Control), power sunroof, Xenon headlights, CD changer, automatic climate control, M Sport steering wheel, chromed staggered wheels, and much more. The 540i is powered by the powerful and efficient 4.4 liter V8. This car is fully serviced, inspected, and ready for you to drive anywhere.
History
This car was manufactured in June of 2001 and first registered in October of 2001. This car has a clear and clean title history. This is a two owner car that has been in Virginia since it had 22,000 miles on it. This car has not been in any accidents and doesn't have any paintwork. The Carfax report is available upon request.
Mechanical
This BMW is in great shape mechanically. It runs and drives just like it should. Everything works properly. The engine runs smooth and strong. The transmission shifts smoothly and the clutch is nice and tight with no slipping or noise. The underside is clean and dry with no leaks or rust. The tires are new in the front and nearly new in the rear. The brakes are very good all the way around and stop this car firmly without pulling or vibration. The air conditioning blows ice cold. This 540i has just been fully serviced with synthetic oil and filter, new valve cover gaskets, new spark plugs, and we just installed the 4 Chrome OEM wheels from LA Wheel and Tire along with new lug nuts and tires. The original wheels were getting a bit discolored and so we swapped them for some new chrome ones. This car has also been Virginia State inspected by an independent mechanic. It is ready to drive anywhere. We have driven this car about 4,000 miles ourselves and it performs great.
Exterior
The exterior of this car is smooth and mirror shiny as you can see from the pictures. There are a few very minor cosmetic imperfections but none of them detract from the excellent overall appearance of the car. The right front fender has a very small ding right above the wheel (see pictures) and there is a slight scratch on the deck lid where a dealership emblem was removed (see picture). The wheels are brand new with no curb rash. This car is in well above average condition for the year and miles. I would rate the exterior a strong 9 out of 10.
Interior
The interior of this BMW is nice and clean as well. The seats and carpet are clean and free of stains. There is no smoke or other offensive odors. This car still has that BMW new car smell. Everything works like it should with the exception of one line of pixels that are dim on the odometer readout(see picture). The drivers seat bolster is showing some light surface wear(see pictures) but the rest of the seats look like new. This car comes with two keyless entry remote/key combinations and one valet key and the plastic key. Also included are the owners manuals and the full set of factory floor mats. The trunk is clean and dry. I would rate the interior at least a 9 out of 10.

We do not sell any vehicle that we wouldn't drive ourselves. As a matter of fact, we often put a couple hundred miles on the vehicles before we list them. We service and inspect every vehicle in our own shop and then thoroughly detail each vehicle. Every vehicle then passes a rigorous Virginia State Inspection by an independent mechanic. We try to describe the vehicles as completely as possible, however if you have any questions, do not hesitate to call or email us.
Honesty and integrity are very important to us. You are encouraged to come inspect the vehicle in person before the close of the auction, or have an inspection service to do it for you. Please call before you come as we are sometimes out of the office or have the vehicle at a different location. You are welcome to drive the vehicle before you make final payment. If you find that the vehicle is not as it was described in the listing you are entitled to a full refund of any deposit you have paid. This is only available if you come to our location to pick up the vehicle. If you have the vehicle shipped and wish to return it for a refund you will be responsible for the shipping charges both ways. Your trade-ins are welcome as well.
